Hahaha, yeah that came to my attention a while ago, thanks to several Notes and comments from folks, that people thought I was, Jenna (and a couple of them made the unfortunately logic jump that I must be female, and built like Jenna)

*nods* I just generally assume that the character I see drawn on someone's account the most is their main character... Though I know better than to assume that their characters are often not their irl selves *laughs* but... Yeah, that's kinda understandable

I don't have much art of Wolf at all, despite him being "me". The trick is that he comes from an era when people's "avatars" were all pretty much literal representations of themselves as furries, so unlike the fantastical creations and idealized "selves" people have as avatars now. Wolf is, frankly, sort of dull: a 5'6, 150lb grey wolf-morph, short dark head-fur, wears glasses, dresses like an everyday bloke. So, the fact that I and Coug'r tend to encourage people to drawn Jenna, what are people going to want to draw more: the everyday little wolf or the vivacious perky curvacious amazonian hyena?

*laughs* well, the character doesn't have to be physically interesting forpeople to want to draew them. Like my character wisty is a just a small white ice dragon. But he's got an interesting (imo) personality... Ah, I'm rambling, I'm afraid...

But that being said, I won't complain if I keep seeing more of Jenna - she is interesting and cute to say the least. Hehe...

You don't have to draw to be able to play the game, but it's handy: the reality of it is that 90% of the game is "played" in words: discussing what we like about a character, why they're that way, things that would make the character fun, or amusing, or sexy, where they're from, the things that define them that generally aren't something you *can* draw.

Wasn't there something similar going on a looong time ago between Cougr and Terrie Smith? I remember some funny pictures of Cougr and Chester from her.

Ken, like a lot of folks in those days, really had the hots for Chester. Ken also is charmingly noisy when he likes something, or when you do something nice for him (he fusses and sputters in the most amusing fashions!), so yeah, occasionally Terrie abused him, or others of us made arrangements for Terrie to abuse him.

(Well, not really. But like so many others, apparently, I've come to associate her with you on a very fundamental level!)

Well, the credit for her initial creation is all Ken's, and thus copyright and ownership of the character is all his. Inspirationally speaking she's kind of "ours" now; she was created for me, there's a lhuge amount of shared fun and feedback as she evolves and grows, I love the character and concept and I've drawn her a lot, so there's a lot of "me" in the character's design now. But no matter how much I put into her design, she's still Ken's character.

So, something like Alice in my stories; she's ultimately Greg's creation, but I've been writing about and shaping her so much that she's really both of our character.

That's about right, I imagine. Actually, as an artist, having a writer use your characters can sometimes be an interesting combination of exciting, intriguing and bewildering. At least for me, the characters I draw tend to evolve a life of their own, the more i draw them. I create little mental vignettes to flesh out why they do things, why they would be in the situations they might be in.
A writer taking control of those characters, because obviously the writer isn't me, means that those characters start saying things I hadn't thought of them saying, doing things I hadn't thought of them doing. Sometimes the result is amusing, sometimes it's exciting, and sometimes it's vaguely dismaying. And sometimes those emotions happen all at once, because essentially they take on a life of their own. I suspect it's somewhat like having teenagers.

You may not hold the copyright, but you (or your character counterpart) holds something far better -- the lady herself.

Happily, I like to think that that was kind of the plan.

Oh it wasn't any sort of an issue! Keep in mind Ken and I talk pretty much every day, it was just a matter of a chuckling comment from him that it was amusing that everyone *did* think that Jenna was mine (and as you can see from above, some folks pretty much thought she was me). It just struck me as a good time to clear that up and make sure my good buddy got the kudos he deserved!

it's funny when that happens. hell, when i first started posting on FA, most people thought i was my female character ruby. ahh... good times. lol. besides, i think i made up for that little mistake today in my gallery. hehe.

LOL... you know Wolfie not once did I ever guess you to be female. But then again I have seen and heard you on a number of your streams and well.. no offense to anyone but if you are female DAMN! your voice is rather deep and you have some harry ass arms for a women.

And on the note of streams, when you gonna do another one or have you done so and I've missed it? Between you and Fen I was getting my stream fix for great art and fun..but lately I haven't seen or at least I have not caught a stream from either of you.

Hehe, and sometime soon I plan on picking on a certain gazelle in bars *winks* to add a bit of color in her life, just currently with classes and a house full of kids [nephews and such are home..yaya for summer vacation] it is rather difficult to do that kind of thing.. IE... porns not for kiddies.

Honestly, as far as spectator sports go, I have to say that I find the back-and-forth game of soccer between you and Ken trying to out-tweak one another far more entertaining than ninety minutes with a ball. :D

When the mood strikes two or more artists, and they decide to throw things at each other (artistically), the results are usually pretty entertaining and fun. I think part of it is that they're inspired, and part of it is that because they're trying to be quick with their volleys in the "sparring", the results are a little more sketchy and animated and lively than if they were taking their time towards more "finished" products.

It's kind of surprising that you don't actually own that character. You might not own her, but you bring her to life through your work.

Also, people actually thought you were female? Wow. XD

Like i said previously, while I don't own her, I do share her creatively because that's pretty much the whole point of her design: a beautiful girl that's "made" for me.

And the internet is amusing like that: draw a lot of a pretty female character, and people get it in their heads that you're female. Draw a lot of big booty'd, thick girls and people get it in their head that you're black; no, I'm not joking, I've had at least two instances where someone logged into my livestream, saw my hairy white arms and went "Holy crap, you're white?!!".

Good to know I'm not the only macrophile who has characters specifically made to torment people. I think I get about as much pleasure as teasing as I do being teased!

Macrophilia is essentially about dominance/submission and overt displays of power/strength, about being in control, or being controlled. So I think you'll be pleasantly pleased to know that pretty much all the people I know who are into macro (and I know a lot of them) have characters they've designed or tweaked to tease specific people. And a goodly number of them have characters they've designed to tweaked to tease specific friends.
To some extent, back in the days when the majority of social interaction on the net was via text-based RP systems it was one of the games to play: seeing who could design or tweak (or roleplay) their character to make the most people squirm, or make specific people squirm really hard.

There's actually a lot of background for Jenna and her family, so much so that I find it hard to organize in a viable fashion where it would make sense to other people. Some of it went into the stories about them that  padfootsm did, but I have to point out that those stories are only semi-canon; while there was a lot of interaction between myself, Coug'r and Padfoot in editing the stories, we gave him a lot of leeway to tell his story, as well. It's been in my head over the last few days to do a web-page collecting all my hyenas and hyena gift art in one place, and an annex to that page that would be for Jenna and the details on her and the Kutus, but we'll have to see if that actually happens, as there's a lot going on in my life right now, and much as I love my hyenas, they have to wait patiently while I get life in order.

Neither of us, I don't think, I'm pretty sure the Jenna there isn't even a hyena. Frankly, I really don't log into FurryMuck anymore, all the folks that I used to hang out with there aren't around anymore, and the whole place is sadly long past its heyday of character design and role-play. I'm pretty sure that the only reason I still have a charcter there is because I occasionally log in, and because I believe they won't issue species as a name anymore.

There's probably a good social-commentary reason for all this....
