For a democracy such as the United States, I do not find it difficult to see blame on the part of all Americans for the complaints you raise. It is afterall you Americans who vote these people into Congress time after time after time.

Yes, a large part of our problem is that the majority of the population is not informed about what their leaders are doing... most people don't care. And so the same corrupt politicians keep getting elected because we don't hold them to higher standards; that also makes it much harder for people like me, who DO care and do vote, but are often outnumbered by the people who don't vote and the people lobbying for their own selfish interests. 10 percent of the country controls 50 percent of our wealth, and they have all the administrative power that comes with that.

Usually it's a case of choosing the lesser of two evils rather than the person who is best for the job... politicians have millions to spend on propaganda and fear mongering and hate while the citizens don't. So yes we definitely are to blame, but society is much more rigid and unequal than our wonderful patriotism would like people to believe.

I'm just going to pop in and agree with everything said here.

I never said america is the best. In fact, there's an obscenely large amount of things that I DON'T like about this country. They're using DNS block so the solution is easy, just start using a foreign DNS(like i.e. OpenDNS) or proxy instead of your ISP's own DNS and you don't need to worry about FA being blocked anymore.

Тут же хотят фильтровать весь магистральный интернет траффик. Но не стоит серьезно об этом беспокоиться. Во первых, думаю этот проект не будет одобрен, так как и в верхах есть люди (я надеюсь) которые могут понять что к чему. Сам по себе проект требует огромных средств на установку начального оборудования. Так его еще надо будет подерживать. Это не камеры на месяц поставить. Это не будет выгодно никому.
Даже если "в этом царсве" все так печально - они не смогут фильтровать абсолютно все. Существуют прокси с шифрованием, идущую с них информацию невозможно увидеть без спец оборудования (дешифровка в режме онлайн требует как минимум суперкомпьютера, а через еденичный сервер-фильтр будут прогодить гигабиты информации в минуту). Поэтому не стоит беспокоиться, пользоваться проксями очень легко, поэтому все эти фильты будут оходиться всеми людьми имеющими минимальные компьютерные знания (а также их друзями).

There are alot of things wrong with the US. I lived in Mexico as well, and even I say that about the US. I am a second class citizen here, because of who I am... there is not much to love in that.

Sorry to hear about that, but if you mean you're discriminated against for coming from Mexico, then I'd have to say that's more of a stereotypical issue than a country one. :/ Most people assume that Mexicans are here illegally, which a surprising number are. My neighborhood, in Georgia, is 90% Mexican and I know at least half are here illegally. Does it make them bad people? No. Most of them are very nice. But they're still taking from the country what should be for citizens first.

Think I got a bit off topic there, but no matter where you are, most people are discriminated against for one thing or another. I think all of us furries here on FA can understand that. But take pride in the country you live in because without it, you could be in a worse off place. The world is as you see it. If you are proud of who you are, proud of where you come from, and proud of where you are, where can you go wrong? It can only bring positive thoughts to you, whether or not people choose to judge you for it.

Direct connect to IP isn't needed. Russians use DNS blocking(same method which Finnish ISP's used to "block" Piratebay) which can be bypassed within a moment by using proxy or foreign DNS.
