Where I get Art Supplies
13 years ago
A quick list of where I get a lot of my supplies.
Postcard paper: http://myworld.ebay.com/anniemago/
Anniemago will cut custom paper blanks. I like her shop because she sells the 246lb paper I draw my postcards on. Please note though that many dealers sell bricks of postcards on watercolor paper for much cheaper. I just happen to be a paper snob and like using really thick stuff. The paper is textured as it was intended to be capable of handling acrylic paints, but I draw on the untextured side.
Postcard frames: http://stores.ebay.com/goldenstateartthematguy
He sells 'kits' that include acid free frames, bags, and backing. I find his rates extremely reasonable and his product is of excellent quality. Thanks to him it costs me all of fifty cents to frame one of my postcards. He also has a wide variety of colors and delivers very quickly.
ATCs: http://www.jerrysartarama.com/disco.....ding-cards.htm
Folks seem to like the postcards more these days, but I still get ATC orders from time to time. I like this brand because, as mentioned before, I am a paper snob and the thicker the better. These things are almost 2.5 mm thick.
You can get bags for the ATCs here: http://www.jerrysartarama.com/disco.....photo-bags.htm
And you can get cases for the ATCs here: http://www.bcwsupplies.com/products.....der-108-pt.htm
These specific cases are for the thick SoHo cards, so if you use thinner ones you should probably shop around the site and get thinner cases. The site also has stuff for postcards and other things.
Copics: http://www.oozak.com/
Oozak won me over when they called me about an order to ask me if I meant to order doubles. They could have just taken my money and let that be that, but instead they went the extra mile. Plus free shipping on orders over $50! Oozak has also started to offer the ShinHan markers, which are a slightly cheaper Korean copic knock-off.
Pens: http://www.jetpens.com/
I can;t really link to specific things. They have erasable non photo blue mechanical pencil lead, they have wonderful sable tip brushpens, they have watercolor markers. This whole site is crack to me.
Those of you whom I have just caused to lose money, please accept my apologies. ;)

ill just do more commissions! i hope ;-;
I primarily use Prismas at cons cause 90% of the art stores carry them as do many artists. Oddly I have gotten incredible deals on Prismas off ebay. I once picked up a new 156 pen set for $125 and can usually find lots of various pens at a decent price and keep those as replacements.
