LOOKING FOR CHARACTERS FOR A ZOMBIE-SURVIVAL FURRY COMIC!

Hey!
So I have an idea for everyone, here. I've been watching ALOT of walking dead, and I want to do a comic that involves furry characters and ZOMBIES. Yes, zombies. But that's not the just of it, I want the players of the characters to decide their own fate! Think of it as a choose your own adventure comic, except with zombies and lots of familiar faces!
Think Walking Dead for the setting... the world has gone to hell. Nobody seems to know why, but your best bet is to gather for resources and your will and survive. Would you search for weapons or food first? Maybe you have friends with you in this world to protect... or maybe you're alone, and might stumble upon a group soon. Or maybe you don't have what it takes at all, and you "opt out".
This is no world for sparkle-dogs, guys! If you aren't smart or resourceful, your character might die... or worse!
--While you will be able to choose your character's path through this world, be wary that once they enter the world,they may die will probably die. This doesn't mean your actual character is dead forever.
So just don't get bummed if your character dies... who knows, they might come back to bite someone else in the ass!

However, I know this cannot happen ALL THE TIME realistically because we have lives. So I after each comic, I will need to owners of their characters to make a choice for them as to what they should do next. This can be written in the form of a narrative though bubble the character has, or a prediction, or a literal, "I walk into the woods." sort of thing.

--PVP is allowed! So YES you can try to kill another player's character. BUT it must be for a good reason, and it must be well-executed. You can also form groups with other "bandit" characters to kill/loot other player's groups.
--If you are going to enter your character, you really should commit to making him awesome and writing him into the plot well. Cause naked foxes running around screaming "YIFF ME" in a zombie apocalypse just won't end well. (although it will be funny as hell!)
--This is semi-realistic, (once again, think walking dead universe with furries), so characters that are the size of buildings and have eighteen wings won't make the cut. sorry! Characters will vibrant or strange coloration are still up for consideration, as will be hybrids and unusual animals.
--this is a survival-horror genre comic. It is not going to be an adult-rated comic. While it is fine to direct your character into romantic situation with other characters, and "tv-safe" sex scenes may be portrayed, I'm not gonna turn this into a giant orgy.
--I'm open to other shit as well... like the possibility of sci-fi/steampunk elements and even fantasy elements. Werewolves and vampires might even pop up for no reason other than because they're awesome.
--human characters are allowed! I'm making this a free for all. I haven't really thought out how'd they'd fit in a world of anthro foxes and huskies but it's a godamned apocalypse, nobody has time to discuss that shit!
--You can't give your character powers/abilities just for this comic. They have to come as/is on your ref sheet and/or original description. They can't be super O.P. Like he can't shoot lasers out of his eyes or be the fucking batman. Only I can do that. I'M THE BATCOON GODDAMNIT!
--This is going to be pretty freestyle, communication will run on the comments per submission, by notes, and on this journal mainly. I also have a skype: combatraccoon
--NOBODY IS SAFE FROM DYING. Even my own characters! NOBODY.
--zombies in this universe do not run really fast, but they can hobble a good speed, and even run you down if you're slow or injured.
--you don't know yet how the disease is contracted, only that everyone who is bitten and scratched deeply gets a fever, dies, then rises again as a zombie.
--zombies do not have free will. Once you turn, you lose control of your character in the comic for good.
--as in any zombie-scenario, oftentimes the living are more deadly than the undead. PVP is bound to happen!

he likes to look on the brighter side of things and pretend the bad isnt there. this mostly comes from his past and just wanting to keep pressing forward andnot let the bad things get him down. tends to be bubbly and a goof.
From the seattle area he grew up in a normal house, its just when he reached around high school he happened to fall into a bad crowd that got him heavily into drugs in which he turned into a alternative lifestyle. dropped out and moved away from home to try and make his way- the pink,blue and green is actually dye. hes normaly just black and white-. He felt a need to be different but with the heavy drug problems he eventually crashed hard and came crawling back home and worked on getting sober and getting his life back together. now hes a helicopter pilot
he would freak out and think he must be in some kind of extreme movie that is being filmed or a reality show like pranked. he probably wouldnt take it seriously thinking that until something happened in which he would then use whatever he could to survive.

Rylice isn't a overtly mean person, usually very nice, fairly forgiving to people he likes. He does have days where he wants to kick/bash/beat/shoot people/doors/animals/things, but doesn't because he believes that law and order are important. If he could, he would get away with it. Charming, at least sometimes, usually blunt, avoidant of new people, tries to talk down instead of forcing, but will force if he thinks its necessarily. Usually very quiet, even in public, tries not to draw attention to himself, and thinks there is a right way to do everything, and understands there are other ways to do it. It takes a lot for him to get attached to someone, but when he does, he'll stay that way for a while. If he decided he needed to not be attached to someone, nearly overnight he could detach and not have any second thoughts about it. He's also a little bit of an empath, so he usually has a good feel for how things are going to go.
Born in a crappy town in New Mexico, Rylice was usually the odd kid out, quiet, average grades although he almost failed a few classes in grade school because he'd stay up and would only get a few hours of sleep a night. He still doesn't like to sleep, he'll end up passing out in a chair instead of on his couch.
Rylice is pretty knowledgeable about guns and gear/equipment, but isn't a desk jockey. He used to be in Search And Rescue a few years back, picked up a lot of experience and training in tacking, survival and rope rescue. He was also with a paramilitary group.
He has about 4 years of college, and is still taking classes, but doesn't have much to show for it.
He preps for TEOTWAWKI with what money he has, investing in high quality stuff when he can.
From the start, he's probably alone. I dunno, he's opportunistic, if he can get a group going with other people and get them out of danger, or whatever, he'll jump on that. It's a question of circumstance.

His disposition is generally friendly and considerate. He's a nice guy, and can get shy/anxious easily. But he also can take care of himself (for the most part), will stand up for what's right, and is very loyal to his friends.
As far as backstory, he's an urban-dwelling raccoon from the Midwest (not particularly tied to any one city). He's extremely clumsy and accident-prone, as evidenced by the fact that he's missing most of his tail. He's a college student, and bit of a stoner... what else? He kind of comes from an average family, but is more or less estranged from them. And he's technically bi, but very romantically timid (not that that will necessarily help you in any way, but what the hell). That's about all I can think of.
I can be grouped with whoever. Or not, it's all good. Hope I make it!

-Jake's from Arizona (hot and dry for a dolphin I know), sort of a geeky-ass motherfucker in the middle of college, loves computers and hardware. He can rebuild, engineer, maintain, and sort of slap together anything with parts in it. Cars included, he's a gearhead.

Cypher is kind and very loyal to friends and family while kind Cypher knows what has to be done in this new world and will deal with threats and such accordingly.
Cypher is from NYC and grew up a bit in Pittsburgh (like me irl) as such is able to deal with urban settings well.
Cypher also has basic knowlage of how to fix things like cars and generators he also is one of the rare furs in america who knows how to drive stick (and pretty much anything) he is also willing to throw his life on the line if needed for the good of the group.

-your character's place of origin, and an abridged back story : Cal was originally placed in a post-apocalyptic world. He was a soldier who fought in the wars that pretty much destroyed civilization and infrastructure all over the world. However, in the process of the wars, his wife was killed, leaving him to care for his infant son in a world gone all fucked up. That's when he decided that after all the killing he'd done as a soldier, he didn't want to kill anymore - and somehow still protect his son and raise him in a dangerous post apocalyptic world.
-is your character grouped/teamed with anyone from the start? Nah. If you want to include his son (I don't have any art, unfortunately, but just a generic infant cougar) you can, or if you'd rather not include a child, then that's fine too.

-Quiet, calm, collected, observant and realistic. Az tries to be fair and reasonable but also is aware of the reality of fairness sometimes and that what has to be done has to be done.
-Az was born and raised in Massachusetts and started off young as a musician, forced into playing the violin by his parents. He got good at it while young but slowly stopped playing as he got older. Now he's in the National Guard, has deployed twice, and has seen much of the world.
-Perhaps he was part of the National Guard teams deployed to help combat the zombie threat but as things deteriorated he gets separated from the military and has to find another group of people.

A private school student from the Metro D.C. area from a very wealthy, post Aristocratic French family. Currently a freshman economics student at Georgetown, starting attackman on their D-1 lacrosse team and used to do cross country for his high school's varsity team. He'd probably be in Healy hall, studying for his Chinese exams when the outbreak started. (Super tl;dr born in Marseille moved to D.C. at age 9, SPORTS DUDE AND LIKES MONEY NUMBERS AT G-SWEEZY UNIVERSITY)

He would look pretty standard for his species [shorter than some other big cats, but built thickly and furred to keep the cold out], keeps his hair short [this would have been a preference before the zombies, but with zombies you want them to have as little to snag onto as possible... He is one of those fellows, that if he were taking psychology tests and was asked the question, "If you were hiding from a group of aggressives who intend to kill you and everyone in the party, and there was a baby in the group that started crying and the choice was either to smother the baby, or be discovered [and subsequently killed]" he would choose to smother the baby. He would get no joy from this, but he would view it as the better alternative to *everyone* dying. Also, if it were to actually happen [as opposed to that academic wondering] and had been enough after the zombies came that the child would have had to have been conceived since things went to hell, he would probably be pretty disgusted with the parents not being more careful about not bringing more children into a shit hole world. He will help if he can, but not at the cost of his own safety or the safety of others. He's that nature freak making and building weird contraptions out of wood and other found things in the forest and uploading videos to youtube of them. [there's this dude that built some wooden spider robots irl, but I can't find any of the YT vids, damnit.]
-Origins: Son to a couple who were one part hippie one part hillbilly [hence that godawful name], he grew up in the mountains and amongst the forests. Around age 16 his parents died and he was sent to family, family who were none too happy to be in charge of what they termed as a half-wild forest child so they sent him to military school. He ended up staying with that, and even into the army for a stint but ended up finding that he did not like leading or being lead, so he went AWOL. [Military personnel would know him as "Buckner" most likely] He has since been living mostly amongst the forests, but his survival skills taught to him by his parents mean his life [at least pre-zombie apocalypse] was decently comfortable. He knows what to eat and what is useful in the wild, and decent training for strategic city tracking/living due to his time in the military. He is most at home in a forest, but he does venture into or around cities for various reasons [getting things he can't make himself, or... what have you] Some familiarity with guns, but he mostly uses those skills to get food for himself [at least pre-zombies].
-is your character grouped/teamed with anyone from the start? Probably not. If someone submits a character that seems like it would work well, that's fine with me, or if you want to write up a reason that is also cool. He is a loner and unless he feels as if he can trust someone else to be about eyes-and-ears-and-nose as much as he is, he is not likely to hang around them [unless there is some pressing reason to do so]. Dunno how long the zombie thing is supposed to be happening in this world, but my suggestion [if characters are finding out during the start of the story] is that IF he isn't in a city when he finds out, it's cause either non-zombies seeking shelter accidentally find him [he probably lives in a tree house - KITTY! nothing insanely fancy Swiss Family Robinson-y, but off the ground and sturdy] or zombies come through his "camp" and he has to discover they aren't dumb drunk college kids, haha.

Radio's Personal Story: Radio was born within the home of her parents but their death was almost immediate after her birth, she was taken to an orphanage build just for anthro child ranging from newborn to the age of 18. She lived there all her life going through many parents only to return soon after adoption, her "family" was comprised of an Elk named Elek and a hyena named Chester they were all she needed after her last home and they continued to live on together trying their hardest not to be adopted until their 18th birthday. Radio now lives with these two in a rundown apartment on the [i]bad[/b] side of town where she is the "leader" of a gang that controls it, she takes no part in what this gang actually does they view her as more a symbol of power and ruthless fight. She's been arrested for countless offense, one of the most prominent being sexual harassment/molestation as well as rape on a few accounts. After meeting a ferret by the name of Pippa her crime spree slowed as she was infatuated with her and occasionally stalked her at her job at a local flower shop near the neighbors main grocery store. Pippa doesn't mind her as long as she doesn't come to close but at the same time she's interested in the things that'd happen if her guard was let down, but she'll never admit it.
In This Story: After witnessing a few attacks in the neighbor she runs off to go and find Pippa, knowing her friends are probably safe in some hideout they constructed after all hell broke loose. Huffing and puffing as she dodges and fights through a few zombies to get the the flower shop where Pippa should be at this hour of the day hoping and pleading in her mind for her safety. She stops and takes a breather at the front door of the shop which has been broken down, glass, flower petals, and dirty scattered across the floors and counter tops - cautiously walking through the mess trying not to attract any unwanted attention from whatever could be lurking around, a loud shriek came from a closet in the back room and loud roar like scream and heavy beating on the door. Darting off to the back she sees the intruder and braces herself with whatever gardening tool she finds laying around.

Pippa's Personal Story: Shy petite little thing, she doesn't get out much but enjoys the fresh air she gets when at work. Overly cautious of her surrounds for various reasons one mainly being this thug by the name of Radio but she isn't so much a threat and she is an annoyance. She lived a simple life in a small cottage just outside the city, the clearing was all to herself and no one bothered her aside from a few travelers hiking through asking for a rest or directions back to the city. It was simple and all she needed, she didn't need romance, tv, or any sort of technology to live out her life besides the basics to make day to day routines easier.
In This Story: She screamed, falling to the ground as a loud bang and a few scratches paraded the closet door she hid behind. The flower pot she so desperately held crashing to the ground and shattering, spilling out the soil and freshly planted seeds she had placed not too long ago. Quivering in fear she curled into a ball in the furthest corner as she shrieked and yelped for any sort of help from the outside world hoping and praying for someone to recuse her from this nightmare. A loud grunt and footsteps rang in her ears as the screams of her attacker silenced and all was left was heavy panting and coughing of her rescuer.

I'm not sure Scurrow would fit into the story that great since he's basically a wise -ass toon but I'll fill out all this info anyway because trying to figure out how your character would react in a zombie apocalypse is a fun concept.

Scurrow is 29!! A Squirrel-wolf hybrid (Like 82% squirrel 18% wolf) . He is masochistic and a sadistic, like most toons! He designs and sells novelty products for toons for a living and plays accordion a lot which pisses off the neighbors. Scurrow would probably be the jokester of the group that says that funny line right before he gets offed.
He would definitely not be nearly as serious as anyone in the walking dead book, until something tragic happens like his best friend dies in which he would become an emotional mess for a bit but then pull it back together and go back to joking about everything. He's also bitterly sarcastic and hates authority figures and people who power trip.

Don't let her age fool you, she is wise beyond her years though sometimes, she does slip up. She very protective and knows how to sweet talk her way out of almost anything.
-your character's place of origin, and an abridged back story: Ketsie is from the once volcanic islands of Bora Bora. The Polynesian paradise wasn't all fun and games. She learned to live off of the land with the tribes folk and has a tattoo band on her upper left arm which was considered a right of passage. She was not born to the tribe but she was close to the people due to her water bending capabilities. She was trained by the original elemental masters of the island and was the first of her caliber to be born there. But don't be fooled, just because she prefers her abilities to weapons, Ketsie is a master with a long staff and has also mastered archery. Before the world went to shit, Ketsie left her island paradise and met a rather dashing young G Shep named Diesel and although he is timid and lost in the new world of flesh eating monsters, Ketsie is always right there beside him, ready to face any danger head on.

Coming from a rich family, Diesel's never seen a day where financial issues have been prevalent, which has swayed Diesel's approach to most things with a hint of sarcasm and fantasy, no matter the situation. Diesel keeps a straight face during most conversations, but takes in newcomers slowly and is slow to trust people, usually waiting for them to befriend Ketsie before opening up to them. Seen almost as Ketsie's Angle on her Shoulder, Diesel will usually see the pessimistic side of situations, stopping Ketsie from reacting to hopefully better situations.

-Your character's disposition: Extremely friendly, probably too much actually. (Sort of a con man/wolf. Only more honest.). He is very collected but also enthusiastic around people. When music is being played, however, (normally electronic, him being a DJ part time) he becomes beastly, sadistic and insane, revealing his second personality.
-Your character's place of origin / personal story: Puls3 has always loved people. Not love, like, affection. But he whores over attention often and he almost always catches a second glance. He isn't over-the-top handsome, or built to attract women, but he gets all the attention he wants through his social skills and personality. He is extremely bright and cunning and he can fit in just about anywhere. He is almost guaranteed to be the life of all parties; a genuine party animal. But, his second personality clashes hard with his first, his animal raging against his collected demeanor. Sometimes, friendly get-togethers can turn quite...chaotic. That is, if he doesn't take special care. He wears noise cancelling ear phones deep in his large bat-like ears, hidden to spare the explaining of his situation. (He would lie but he refrains from lying whenever possible.)

Mark Preston is a native son of Texas, born and raised in the Lone Star State. When it came time for college, though, he headed across the country to follow scholarship money. He was getting ready to head home on vacation when the zombie apocalypse hit… now, he just needs to find a few other students and make his way to the off-campus storage unit where he keeps his guns.
Personality traits:
Mark's a Type-A personality all the way-- driven, stubborn, and headstrong. But he also has an extremely strong sense of honor, and would help out just about anyone in need. He loves people, too, and always tries to be a gentleman around women. Sometimes Mark can come across as uncaring or too calculating, but he's just trying to figure out what's best for the group-- he's really a softie at heart, and is perfectly willing to risk his life for others. But that doesn't mean that Mark would be afraid to put a bullet into his own head (or anybody else's!) if bitten. He’s also a bit of a germophobe, and can’t stand the idea of zombie blood being on his fur, guns, clothes, or even his trusty machete.
Mark’s main hobby is competitive pistol shooting (IDPA and USPSA). He’s a crack shot with a handgun, and does well in most of the events he attends. He also shoots a lot of three-gun competitions, and as such is good with a shotgun and rifle too. He might not be the strongest or the most incredibly fit guy, but darn it, he can shoot: the running-and-gunning hobby of his gives him a useful skillset for the zombie apocalypse. He's also taken a few hours of flying lessons in small planes. It's not enough to navigate solely by instruments, but enough to get from point A to point B in the daylight. He also loves to cook and to eat good food.
