I'm glad to hear that they are improving and that they will not let this incident ruin their lives. And idk if it means much, but after hearing about the incident I made sure to post to my fb and talk to my friends to remind them not to drive and drive.. and if I catch them doing so, even if they're a friend, I will report them in an instant for having such a disregard for the lives of others.

I just recently happened upon what took place and have your family in my heart. Your sister truly has a lot of strength to not let that man ruin her life, and to hold onto the happy memories versus the sad. May both she and her lover make swift recoveries, Elden really is a hero for his actions; he sacrificed so much to save your sister. I am saddened to hear the canines did not live, but it truly makes me happy that though yes family was lost, it was not everyone...

Reading the original journal posted nearly made me cry. I am so glad to hear that your sister is doing well and her boyfriend is going to come out of everything alright. I hate that she lost her beloved dogs, I can't imagine my life without mine. I will be keeping you and your family in my thoughts. <3

Yeah, I really wish I had more to give more. I really do feel stirred up by all this, like it happened down the street.. I feel it's worth noting, while I do love Dogs, and would be a wreck if something happened to mine; that's not what really attracted to this story.

The reason I personally care so much, is this is my commonality, and no matter what outsiders may think, I'm noticed it to be more tight knit then most. I've found so much love here, and I only want to return it in kind. I'll be happy when we can start to forget about this though. Allow the dirt bag to rot quietly, so everyone can move on.

on the other hand, my brother phil who also lost his leg in a motorcycle crash, yes the driver was driving fast but he did stop. That was on his 18th birthday when he lost his leg. That was 30 years ago. I hope he will give some advice if I talk to him.

What about a possible future Service dog for Hari? Certainly with prosthetics, he will be able to walk again and with the right mobility/assist dog well it would certainly bring him much further along and be of a great help to him. I'm not sure a Cattledog is tall enough for the job but I'm sure there is a right breed out there for him.

My thoughts are still with you..... and my prayers are that the man who has done this to you and your family is punished appropriately....
I personally would just have him put to death.... but a lot of people view that as too extreme.
None the less, it sounds like all of you are putting your game faces on and stepping up to this ready to fight.
It's good to see such spirit after what happened.
I can't wait to hear when Hari is out of the hospital.

Your poor family did not deserve this, but I am glad they are healing.

I use to work in a military hospital setting and saw many amputees. Their struggles and their accomplishments break my heart. I know your sister and Hari will be okay but I am sorry it happened at all and I hope my small donation, in combination with everyone else, will be enough.

Well I only just now heard about this so I pretty much missed this whole thing but I'm really glad things are looking up some for you all. I wish I could help in some way... I'm just glad at least your sister and her boyfriend are alive. He did such a great thing for her and I'm happy to have heard that.
