Week #3 - War Vs. Anti-War

Don't Hate It, Debate It!
Our thrid week's topic will be on:
A country's right to go to war VS. Trying to sustain a peaceful world. Are some countries justified to start/get involved with wars? What are the right reasons to start a war? Can there be a more acceptable way for 2 countries to work out their problems? Will there always be war regardless of how many people agree they hate it? Is right for a country to send its men and women into harms way or do they know what they are getting into and want to support their country on the front lines? Is it wrong for people to protest war/the troops? (i.e.: West Borough Baptists protesting military family funerals) I want a clean debate everyone. i know this can be a touchy subject. Last time, we didnt have much of debate so if someone where to humor me and take an opposite stance on someones opinion and start a proper debate that would be lovely. Follow the rules, tho.

New debates will now be on every friday since thats a little easier to remember.
Of course during vietnam people said the same thing, we knew we had no place in that war and the sole reason we were involved was because of our fear of the communists. but the worst part is we are never told the truth about the causation of these wars. We arent explicitly told that we are fighting for greed and not any honorable cause. Sadly if you tell someone who is pro military these things you are immediately labeled as unpatriotic and ungrateful. But the truth of it all is we havent had a legitimate reason to go to war since WWII. Back then when going to war truly meant you were protecting your family and country, and not just crusading for a bunch of money grubbing corporate assholes. Ive always felt to be a patriot is to truly want to improve your country for its people, that spending trillions on wars is detrimental to the country and we could be using that money to improve our lives rather than destroy them.
