Commissions: Pricing

SA-X, Walkerfire, Sammonaran, Raiok, Ashanriu, Wasdramer, Zyraph. Too many names. X3
Here's how I'll do this. Since my commissions are going to be for literature only, I have some level of flexibility in what I can charge for certain things. So, here's a list of the things I'll do and with pricetags right next to what I have.
STANDARD PRICING:
Poems: $1 per stanza (average will be between 2-4 stanzas if you want a really good poem)
Short stories: Depending on the length, I will charge a minimum of $6 (three pages), up to a maximum of $20 (it'd have to be like 10 pages if I was going to charge that much). Average cost will most likely be around $10 for 5 pages. I don't count by characters, words, or paragraphs. One page is one page. So, basically, one page is $2. SPECIAL INTRODUCTORY OFFER: If you get more than 5 pages, I'll cut every page after the initial 5 by 50% (so, after $10, it's $1 per page after).
Character descriptions: This is a bit different. Basically, I can make a written reference from a picture, or design something by some of the likes that you have. For example, if you were to give me some guidelines of a creature that was red and liked to eat peppermints, I could give a description of a little gecko that was red and white, crawling around looking for candy canes to om nom. ;3 Depending on the amount of detail you want to have, I'll charge anywhere between 50ยข to $2, and possibly more if you want something completely unique. These will not go more than $5, guaranteed. This can count as a written reference, or just as someone looking at the character. A written reference is more structured, but a description has more of a story-like flow.
Character backstories: I have these separate from short stories because they're more unique. If you give me a few things to run off of, I'll write up an ideal backstory that has much more detail. Or, I can improve one that you already have written up. I'll only charge $2 for this, regardless of length, because everyone needs a backstory :3
Long stories (multiple submissions): This is a lot harder to gauge...I have not set prices on this, as it is very unpredictable. It's also very hard for me to work on stories longer than a few submissions. However, patience will be key in things like this, as these will most likely be on the backburner so that I can finish up smaller projects. As a result, I will not be accepting a great deal of these, unless I feel I can actually manage it and I can actually utilize what I need for it. There will never be one that has more than 10 submissions for it. A prologue and epilogue will cost extra. I will make a journal for when I wish to actually do something like this, and it will never be when I feel rushed.
Songs: These are a bit trickier than poems, because you must have a certain rhythm. I will charge $5 for these, as there is a lot of work that goes into them. It's much more than just a freeform (or even structured) poem.
Keep in mind that these prices can change at anytime, but it will not affect any charges that a commissioner already has with me. In other words, once you start asking for a commission, the price you are charged doesn't change from the base price. It will only change, at that point, depending on how much work I put into it. However, the prices may change depending on living situation changes or unforseen events. If something does happen, I will tell you what I will be doing about commissions when that time comes. So, please keep this in mind so that nothing is seen as negative in that respect.
IRON WRITER PRICING:
This goes into effect two months before I attend a con. These are special prices that, while I'll try to retain the quality of my works, will hopefully be reasonable for anyone. I believe these will be reasonable conditions for the Iron Writer Pricing scheme:
Poems: $1 (Up to six stanzas, up to eight lines each stanza.)
Short stories: $1 per page, no more than 5 pages
Songs: $3
Character Descriptions: $2
Backstories: $1
I will not be doing any long stories during Iron Writer events.
When Iron Writer is going on, I'll open 250 slots (very ambitious). For two months, I'll work on as many things as I obtain, in order. If I don't get the 250 slots filled before the convention, I'll be in Artists Alley trying to obtain more commissions. If I do, then I'll be able to enjoy myself ;3
