Georgia grew up in Yonkers, New York with her Father, her Mother, her Uncle (fathers brother), and her 5 brothers (4 older, one younger), and 2 cousins (both older, her Uncles kids from when he was married briefly - both boys). They were not the most wealthy family, but they did get by and with so many mouths to feed they did well. The source of their income (and indeed the center of most of their lives) was the Velox Brothers Garage (changed to Velox Brothers & Sons in 1981 when her oldest brother and cousin started working there full time).
The garage was a great place to meet people and she grew up the odd-woman-out because she was pretty much raised as another one of 'the boys' - simply because it was easier to do so. Her mother was still around, but she was often too busy cooking and cleaning and the like to really stop Georgia from being a tomboy. (Thankfully, her mother chose to be a housewife) Any time Georgia had a 'girlie problem' her mother was there to step up and help.
So her childhood went by pretty well. Grew up under a strong woman whom ran the house, made the men wipe their feet an wash their hands and not bring car parts to the table. Went to school, learned to work on cars and all that. All seemed to be going well for her, until highschool.
Highschool was rough, cause that was when she really felt... odd. All her friends evaporated into relationships and people became couples and there was simply a /lot/ of highschool drama. One day while at the Auto-Club (the after-school club where a group of kids worked on cars for fun) one of the guys (a slender otter named Tony Marioni) tried to go out with her - and it ended badly. That was when she realized she was in fact...a lesbian. She had less then 0 interest in men, and she found other women to be beautiful and exotic (and would soon join in the guys in comparing women to car parts.) To this day, her mother still thinks that Georgia will grow out of it, and will still fall in love and give her lots of grandkids to grandmother over.
After highschool she went strait to work at the garage - for a graduation present she got herself her first tattoo - a large wrench along her left arm (she is, in fact, left handed).
While her mother disapproved, Georgia enjoyed it immensely. It wasn't long after (perhaps 10 months) before she found herself her favorite tattoo artist to get some more ink done. The next thing was a bright red sign, a copy of a common road sign from around her neighborhood. The undead tattoo artist didn't seem to care, and does great work so she used him from then on.
Not long after highschool, she decided to branch out and try something different so she joined the Army. They happily accepted the strong, athletic, woman whom had an advanced grasp of mechanics and such. Upon finishing basic training she got herself the US Army logo on her shoulder (and this was still when they said "I am an army of one")
She went through some more training and soon was assigned to the motor-pool where she repaired and maintained cars, motorcycles, jeeps, and even started getting into tanks. After her first tour, she knew she was army for life - so she got her neck tattoo'd with a barcode (which happened to be her SSN). However, she also got the "Velox Brothers & Sons" Tattoo on her leg - so she'd never forget where she came from (and that if she lost everything, she'd still have a leg to stand on: family)
It wasn't long until she was deployed to foreign soil. Out in "The Sandbox" she met some great friends, and unfortunately had to see a lot of them get sent home without bits and pieces. One day she came across another lady soldier, a one-legged hyena from Harlem of all places, whom was transferred in as a gunner. Georgia worked with Kelly to get some special modification done to her tank (which was done w/o approval from the chain of command - but she thought she had the authority)
As she grew in skill and responsibility, she found handling the pressure harder and harder. Larger, more 'important' repairs and the like started to take up all her time, and regular maintenance fell to the wayside. She didn't figure you needed to check over every inch of a tank, it's a tank. Those Abrams are nearly indestructible anyway.
Then came the worst day of her life. One of the tanks she was responsible for went out - and found an explosive device. The tank flipped, and thanks to her negligence it collapsed in on its self. The driver, a young man by the name of Kaz Tagagi, was killed in the crushing of the tank. Her friend Kelly lost her other leg - and was forced back home.
Months of trials and inquires later - she was found criminally guilty in the death of Takagi (through negligence) and was sentenced to 5 years in an army jail. Life was rough there, but thanks to her strength and training she was largely left alone.
There, she got her spiders web tattoo (one ring of web for each year, done w/ a ballpoint hand and a needle). Feeling the guilt of her actions, she tattoo'd herself w/ a red pen along her thigh where she had ruined Kellys' leg. During her last year there, she put that 8-ball tattoo onto her shoulder to indicate she got in a bit of bad luck (she's behind the 8-ball) This was done excruciatingly in the prison ballpoint pen method too.
Her first day out, she went to track down that Kelly girl - and when she found her she saw she was walking around with two fake legs, and two long crutches- back at her parents place. Georgia felt an incredible amount of guilt in all this, and soon had her tattoo artist make a huge sugar skull on her leg - as a memorandum to Kaz Takagi. She never wanted to forget what changed her life so radically.
Not long after coming home, she started to get back into the swing of things (all be it faster now she had some Army training). Taking time to reflect on things she realized that leaving home only broke up the family and her life - which is where the broken red band on her arm is now. A small tribal marking, but its important to her. On her other arm she first wanted to cover-over the US Army tattoo, but then decided against it....instead she had him draw a long winding snake- showing that life will take its twists and turns and do as it wants to you. You can fight against it, but all it will do is squeeze tighter.
Now that she's back home for a while, her guilt is starting to fade and her memories are as well. She'll never forget fully, but the pain of the memories are dulling. Lately, she's gone back to Fossil and had him draw some fading Tank Tracks down her back - she always wanted to do a huge tattoo across her back, but she never had the right image in mind - until now.
She plans on heading back to Harlem some time soon, to try to talk to Kelly again.
Georgia has a taste for the Classics - she likes classic cars, coke-a-cola from glass bottles, and all that.
She has a great work ethic. If she wants something, she'll work hard to get it -and enjoy the daylights outtav it, She can have just as a good time sitting at home drinking a beer- as much as she would have going out to a club.
She ends up spending a lot of her time with her family. She currently rides a hand-rebuilt WWII Motorcycle - did it mostly herself (the paint she had to get done by a friend.)

You think she'd get along with a sext, sultry demon-slaying ninja Fennec? ;P
Other then the guilt, she's pretty good.
I had no time reading her profile when you posted it, but when I saw her picture from today I realized I forgot about it and...
just...WOW
backsories to your characters are simply awsome and I love living, vivid characters with meaning
just... WOW
Part of what makes them such good characters IS the background to them. I like how explains why they like what they like, why they are the way they are and all that.
I always try to make my characters living, at least if they are main characters or if the have a bigger role in story of mine
Why are you saying this on Georgia's sportlight, and not Kelly's?
She deals well.
