It's funny (and quickly depressing) the lengths people will go to to get out of paying small amounts of money. I'd say never trust a "big dog" or an "alpha dog" or any dog with a domineering sort of title but there's somebody on this site called Top Dog that seems to get along with everybody.

Sucky life lessons -_- It really does suck that you're going to have to be so cautious from now on. I recently started taking commissions after a 5+ year hiatus from the internet in general. And wouldn't you know that the first commission I took gave me problems. He commissioned me to draw someone else's character in a fetishy situation without mentioning that it wasn't his. I just assumed that it was common knowledge that you shouldn't commission art of other people's characters without their consent of notifying the artist about it. Yeah. Had to send a very embarrassing note to the owner of the character (who thankfully didn't mind). But because of that experience I'm going to be weary of taking commissions from strangers. It suuuuucks, but all artists end up going through this kind of dumb stuff at some point. <3

That is Andrew Rinaldi, the original nightmare of the community. He's mentally retarded and has plagued people for requests for years and years and years - unfortunately, he's grown a little more wily during his time on the internet, and now is commissioning folks!

I'm sorry you didn't have the chance to know about him beforehand. There's a handful of folks who are generally untrustworthy in the community - feel free to ask if you're nervous about a commissioner!

Haha, I did a commission for him once ... Communication was an absolute nightmare and he paid with some bizarre "e-check" method, but the payment did eventually go through and I got my money. He was sending constant messages, though, and asking for update after update (on an icon!) even after I explained I had to go to work for the day, etc

I was done in under 24 hours and I had something like 18 messages racked up from the dude.

He actually messaged me about a sabertooth cat pic, and I replied but he never got back about it. Honestly, I'm kinda glad since dealing with him the first time was SUCH a huge hassle even though I did get paid (unlike you). @____@

He kept asking me really weird questions, too, like my prices (which are in an obvious place), and if I had any examples of my art - which, you're messaging me on FA! It's right there! Ahh, it's almost like a secret weapon now because he can pose as a normal human being. Back when I encountered him he had the generic paintbrush icon so it was easier to dismiss him... Though going by his profile it seems like it's still pretty easy to notice his issues anyways.

Even though I am not an artist, I get contacted by people all the time from FA who don't seem ... quite right. Some of them beg me for art no less. I just block them and move on. You might wanna check out a user's profile page to see if there's anything there that raises any alarm bells.

I think he might just browse "transformation: tame" and "transformation: adult" and request things from anyone that shows up there. He never noticed my writing submissions (unsurprisingly) but when I posted a TF themed art piece I immediately got a note wanting a supposed commission. "I wish for you to transform me into a seal." He promised payment and everything but my creeper-radar is well honed enough that I refused it.

OKAY SEE, hearing that noise means that it's definitely NOT working.

I, like many others, have fallen victim to him. My first situation was on Yahoo back before Furaffinity became mainstream (or exsisted). I didn't know about him till it was too late.

He then demanded artwork from me twice more over on deviantART and then the forth thing he wanted was to know how I did my photomorphs (like bloody hell I'll teach him my techniques!). I had reported him for harassment and stated quite clearly what he was doing to many other artists (mooching for "free" transformation artwork and photomorphs off just about any artist there is, even the ones who only do commisions). His been banned permantly from deviantART, along with any new accounts he makes that I keep finding out about.

One problem is that his been doing this for years now and the fact that his now commited to doing fraud, removing warnings from his FA frontpage and blocking people before the message gets out what his done and what he keeps doing... his not dumb, his just playing the "idiot" card to get what he wants and he knows what his doing is illegal, immorally taking advantage of everyone he comes in contact with!

The other problem is that I had already reported him twice here on FA in the past couple of years. The first was when I not only found out about his account here (and what he was doing), but as soon as I reported it, he was not only banned shortly afterwards but I had also found out about that he had created several other accounts which were also blocked while at it.

The second time however, the admin acted as if there was no reports about him or that they had no idea he was already banned from FA. I was not only miffed and frustrated, I just pretty much gave up... until recently when I spotted what he had done over on Artist-Beware to yet another artist by being a thief.

The fact his been doing this for so many years, and the fact his not as "stupid" as he acts... the admin here can't just simply keep letting more artists be played by this tool. He has to be banned and that he must be marked permantly as unwelcomed to Furaffinity (and any other site he attempts to violate the rules of).

Ok. He tried to commission me. I asked for payment first which he did and gave me a small description in the park. I started to work as soon as I got paid. That's when the horror started. He started to flood my notes asking if I was done or not. Literally every day I would get a dozen asking the same thing. "Am i done yet" "Am I finished yet" I just kept on telling him to be patient and I'll tell him when I am. He still wouldn't stop. So i finally stop answering his notes. A few more then he stopped. I worked on the sketch and finally showed it to him. He liked and and said I should start working on it. Then I get another note saying that he wants the character bowling instead....I just gave him a refund and cancelled the commission. It wasn't worth it anymore

His gone and decided to make a new account to evade the fact his not welcome after harassing a whole community of transformation artists and fans and has made absolutely no attempt to appoligize to any-or-all those his affected.

If his new account is located, he will be reported for continuing to harass anyone he contacts here on FA. There are no more excuses for him and there's no use hiding when his been told to stop for years.

Well, someone should locate it quickly!!! I'm sure the name will be rather obvious...

when i first became a member of FA, he wanted to commission me back then to draw him as a fox. when i didnt have paypal and could only do money orders and he made it a request instead. i had a problem with people not wanting to commission me just cause i didnt have paypal. i had a couple of commissioners then that send money through mail with no problem doing it.

Yeah, it was pretty broken. He contacted me earlier once with his bigfox2013 account. Wouldn't be surprised if he came around for a second helping of free art.

After looking around, and by using the image he sent me for the request and an image I found of an 'Andrew Rinaldi' via Google, it's the same guy for sure.

He just tried to get me to draw a TF piece for him, though he did so from this account .
I told him I only do trades. He responded by linking to two separate DA accounts and told me they were both his, even though one of them belonged to a young woman. He seemed to have trouble understanding that "Trade" isn't just another word for a request. To top it off, he never replied to my notes directly, instead creating a whole new note every time, making it harder to follow the exchange.
I found out who he is after a quick Google search.

He's surfaced again. He now has the account  Tigerman2017

Not confirmed, but exhibits the exact same behavior and follows his account naming pattern.

Hello all. Would like to give an update: he goes by the username "Japan2019," as of my time of writing. I drew a request for him before seeing all this, and it does match up with your descriptions (broken English, etc.) It sucks because I'm a very new artist, only been up for a day or two. Admittedly the first message from him was somewhat suspicious.
