My cat died, and I now have $3.56 in my bank account.

(Warning, stress journal ahead.)
My mom called me crying yesterday, and told me that my beloved cat Jade had died from a snake bite. She said he went missing for an entire day (he was an indoor/outdoor cat) and then came back horribly swollen. My mom and dad rushed him to the vet, only to have him die in their arms there. He was only 9 years old.
I've been crying on and off and mostly sleeping for the past 24 hours because of this, and because after paying my phone bill, I literally have $3.56 in my bank account.
I'm searching for any type of job, but I'm overqualified for most of them so I don't get hired, and the jobs that I went to college for (animal care, husbandry, training, etc) are so competitive that you literally have a 1 in 500 chance of even getting an interview.
Things are bad right now. I'm going to have to add more commissions to my list so that I have money for food/bills/rent.
If you'd like to help, making a journal just saying that I'm open for commissions would be wonderful and greatly appreciated <3

I wish I could send some money to you, though I can't. I'm but a poor 14 year old.
I would like to help with a comission if you like.

I hope things get better<3
you could try working at an Autoparts store like Holly Fox.
just an idea, its money at least
sometimes for some jobs its best to leave out things that you think makes you overqualified for a job. I mean, you are not lying by not telling your potential employer your education if it doesnt pertain to the type of job you are applying for. same thing goes for my Husband Juno, he is currently working as a chef right now and he has certificates to operate a powerplant, if he wants a job within there, its not going to hurt him not disclosing he has a two year degree in culinary arts. I think thats something employers look at too , they look at who would be the best fit of the job description, not what you did for education past high school unless its a skilled job.
keep up the search, youll eventually find something *hugs* and hope things will go better for you soon :)
Overqualified for a Job? what the hell does that mean?
if that's whats preventing you from being hired, just use a resume that leaves out credentials that make you too "overqualified" although it might just be that workplaces try to avoid hiring anyone they know came from a college because they either
a. have no skills for the workplace
b. always expect things to be done their way with their "valuable insights" they got from liberal arts poetry major.
anyway, retail chains like Mcdonalds and Burger King are always options, easy to get a hold of.
If you can pick up a simple retail or manual labour job that you can do, you should be better off financially pretty quick, and you don't have to work for too long with them, but make sure to give your employer a good advance warning before you quit, because doing a good job and leaving a good impression leads to getting other jobs much more easily then before.
On the job situation, I know how it feels... I under qualified according to alot of the jobs.. I have been unemployed since july... I have had 2 interviews since then, was suppose to start a job telemarketing but I haven't herd back from them on when a night training class would be....so currently I am without work & my mate is having to pay everything... Going to have a bit of money next month but thats just from college refund.
Im here if you need someone to talk to, I'm here.
try to hang in there, i've been in the same boat as you. just keep your head up and never let life beat you down.
