My little China girl, you shouldn't mess with me...
First off, for those of you who don't know, I am an avid crocheter.
My mother taught me how to crochet when I was 12yrs old and I've been doing it ever since. Within the past few years, I've lost family to cancer and have family currently fighting their battle with it.
This year for Christmas, I'd like to crochet up chemo caps and blankets to donate.
Unfortunately, I am still unable to get a job and its hard to acquire a lot of money to do this.
I would happily accept donations of money or even better, yarn, to make these caps and blankets.
The types of yarn for chemo caps are:
BABY BEE HUSHABYE (Hobby Lobby)

• BERNAT PIPSQUEAK (Sleep Caps)

These are typically not too expensive and I believe run about 2 - 6$ a scane. It typically takes 2 to 3 scanes to make a chemo cap.
There are more expensive specialty yarns, but they tend to run pretty high in price.
For blankets, any yarn will do, although I prefer any brand -but- Red Heart as it is low-quality yarn. The amount of scanes for blankets varies depending on the pattern.
I am also happy to do drawings for anyone who donates as thanks.
