Custom Jewelry...
I figured, I should make a post about custom jewelry commissions.
Jewelry is priced based on cost of items used - usually rounded to a full or half string of beads, the individual charms if there are charms, and the cost of the specialty beads (such as carved bone beads, metal spring beads, and "Pandora" style beads), findings and stringing material (cost is negligent unless you want a specific style finding) and then my time.
Most bead strings I can get for around $5 for a full string. Sometimes it's $6 and sometimes $8 depending on what you want ($5 for nice ceramic, wood or glass, $6 for metal/shell/bone and $8 for semi-precious stone).
Charms are usually sold in pairs to me, for ~$5. Singles are usually half that, though depending on size may be more.
Pandora beads come in a string of five for $5. So each Pandora style bead you want, expect $1 added.
Findings are pretty much optional. I can use elastic string and pull everything taut, metal spring beads which can hook together with a metal ring between all pieces, or tie and adjustable two-ended sliding knot on cotton string (so you don't have one loose end) if you choose no findings. This is usually a quarter if you want no findings, or fifty cents if you do want findings. Like I said, not much.
My time really depends on the specific piece more than anything, here. A bracelet may take me anywhere from a half hour to an hour, and a necklace usually takes me at least an hour. I like getting paid for my time and effort, just like anyone else does. $4 for bracelets, $8 for necklaces.
Shipping. Shipping currently costs $5.35 flat-rate within the US for a small flat-rate box. You may ask me to stuff as much as you want into it, it won't affect me. :P
Now for the fun part!
A sort of compilation of charms I currently have available. Choosing these will be cheaper than asking me to find new ones.
