F-ings that Frustrate Farel: Image Rights

A few things:
1) WOOT, I did more than 1 FtFF journal, yay!
2) My friend LittleNorwegians has made a beta of his new game. Go here: http://retrodungeon.net/?page_id=300 and either play the demo, give constructive criticism and/or donate to his project. COME ON GUYS!!! <claps to make a pace>
3) And now onto the main topic: I'm one supportive of less strict copyrights and that should be obvious by my video reviews that I make. This isn't to say that I support complete piracy or something, but ya know what I mean!
This comes into play with art owned by other artists. Personally whenever it is possible I ask for permission when I want to color someone else's sketch/lineart or if I downright express a wish to remake the picture myself in order to possibly learn a thing or two. The sad thing is ... it does not always work out. Some artists will be OFFENDED that I ask them for permission. Some will forbid me to upload it on certain websites, others will forbid it and even others will REFUSE TO NAME REASONS! Honestly, it only once occurred to me that I asked someone for permission to use their content and the girl appreciated the thought, but had to refuse due to reasons which she did tell me, WITH APOLOGIES! Why is this kind of attitude such an impossibility around here?!
Let's not beat around the bush. I'll name you 2 people that are ay'ok, you can even talk with them without them acting like dicks! (I know "The Rule of Three" but I really suck at this)
9-puzzle This fella has been seen in my gallery more than once and he taught me a lot about how much one can do even when trying to be minimalistic. Also some of my "remakes" of his pictures have failed because I've failed to notice what he tried to do the images he did the way he did.
DanielKay This is a new one. Dan wrote a whole journal about people reposting his art: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3935701/ . I cannot believe how OKAY he is about the whole deal! He would even give me permission to remake a picture of his. You might see something from him fairly soon.
So whatever guys, I'm weird.
BTW, did I mention LittleNorwegians needs some money?

Just give it to him already, I'd just waste it myself!

Another good point for him, I have a few big name artist watching me, they rarely fave or comment on ANYTHING I post, but Daniel, he faves my pictures, EVEN THE SKETCHES, and a few times he will even comment.
So yeah, I know not ALL popular artists are rude, but my goodness, it seems like a large percentage of them are... And that is a real shame...
But on the subject, some people just think too highly of theirselves and their art as well. Like what they make is perfect, and they don't other lowly artists (not saying you, just in general) to be "defacing" their percious art.
In part it was actually caused by wanting someone to remove a picture I did from his gallery but in that case because it was a shameless steal attempt.
But then the only solution DevianArt offered me, file a DMCA claim... WHAT!!!
I hate how copyright law is handled and DMCA is one of the most vile things spawned from that and now they tell me I should file one just for a reposted picture? Seriously, if that's my option I rather let him keep it in his gallery.
And ultimately that lead to my decision to make that journal and make my views on my own art clear.
Now I can in a way understand artists wishes to respect their copyright, you do feel a certain connection and ownership to your art. But I myself want to give others who want to improve themselves the tools they need, that's why I released my texturing tutorials instead of keeping those to myself. And if people learn by copying they should be allowed to. I learned by copying as well until I had crystallized out my own style.
Eitherway, this respectful attitude of yours has given me some more respect for you and so, I shall watch you on this account, that is my OFFICIAL account. Ehhh you know what, LONG STORY, I won't go into detail, point is: you're cool.... KAY?!
