ToS and Base Price Listing!

Because of the highly individual nature of quilts and there being a million ways to personalize, from embroidery to applique to hand dyed fabrics, this is a loose guide of what to keep in mind when you get ahold of me to ask for a quote. And a quick note before anyone reads further and gets sticker shock.
What goes into a quilt? Top fabric, thread (so much thread), batting, backing fabric, bullets (for stabilization, and if I do my job right, you'll never see them), and then general maintenance of the machine and the hours it takes me to piece, sandwich, quilt and bind.

4. All payment in USD $. Payment accepted via cash, money order, personal check and (coming soon) Paypal.
5. Shipping is the responsibility of the commissioner, especially if you want a trackable method.

do you use 100% cotton?
And yes. All fabric is pre-washed so it won't bleed over onto other fabrics or shrink when you go to wash it. My quilts are made to be used, so they can be machine washable.
How many colors/fabrics go into a standard personal sized quilt?
That honestly depends on what type of actual quilt pattern we are going with, if it's more scrappy looking with lots of different fabrics, or more of a streamlined look.
I am currently working on a gorgeous commissioned quilt that is blue and orange. However, I'm using 4 different blues and 4 different oranges, and then there will be an entirely different piece used for the back, haven't picked blue or orange, I'll ask the commissioner her opinion. Another one that is much smaller that is a wall hanging had the stipulation that the commissioner wanted it to be a connection of her husband's love of NASCAR and her love of cats and bright colors. It has 7 different colors, matching the flags that NASCAR uses to communicate with drivers on the track.
The reason I can throw a basic price out is that I go to the shop and cut what I need, maybe just a tad more in case of oopsies. So I don't have to charge for a full yard of a certain fabric if I'm only going to use 3/4. Doesn't matter how many different pieces of fabric go into making it, I only have to charge what is absolutely necessary to make it. I use top quality material specific for quilting, and I make sure they will hold up with machine washing and drying. In all honesty, my prices are so low that I only make a few dollars off of each one currently. I would like to get my name and product out there before I have to raise the prices much.
