How can people be so cruel?? ;_;

I got a note from my aunt last night (who, next to my nieces, is the only close, blood family I have left in TX)...While she was out of town, spending Thanksgiving with some friends, she got a call from her roommate (who also was away with her family), who had returned to the apartment, only to find that they had been robbed of every single valuable thing they had, as well as all the nostalgic items. All the electronics, the TV, all the jewelry (including my Grandmother's jewelry, and the extremely special, one-of-a-kind dove pendant I had custom-made for my aunt, in memory of my Grandmother, who was so dear to us both: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6763740/ ), plus all the old golf clubs my Grandad made (he made them for a hobby, but he was a pro at it, and did everything the old-fashioned way), and all his antique guns as well...They even took all the Christmas presents my aunt had bought for everyone, and she is elderly and disabled with Crohn's disease, and she can barely even afford to pay her bills, much less buy presents. But she always buys them anyway, making sacrifices for herself, because that's just the kind of person she is...always giving, always caring, always kind, always there for everyone, even when she doesn't have the health, energy or funds, she does it anyway. She is scared to stay at her place any longer, but can't afford to move. I just heartbroken...I don't know what to do. :( How can people be so cruel and heartless to rob a disabled, elderly lady on Thanksgiving, a wonderful lady who never harmed a single soul, and who only lives to help others? ;_; *curls up and cries*

Might be a good idea to send copies of that design around to the pawn shops and jewelry stores in the city, though. Because the police aren't going to, and one of them might have seen it, or even still have it. A piece of jewelry is worthless to burglers, they'll be looking to convert it into nice cash. For the same reason, go check ebay!
maybe if this got in news or on flyers theyd return the stuff? knowing shes some poor disabled woman and those were memorable things..
It's really unfortunate how some people feel the need to ruin things for everyone else by taking advantage of others. I hope that law enforcement is able to track down the culprit and recover some or all of the things-- especially the sentimental stuff.
I hope you send a picture of that pendant to the police taking care of this. It may help find who actually did this, if they just hock it at some thrift store.
I hope that her renters/homeowner's insurance covers theft and makes it a little easier for her to replace the things that can be replaced. My thoughts are with her. I think it's disgusting, but I am told there is more good than evil in the world. I await the proof.
<3 Well wishes.
Hope they get the thiefs >:C
Did she manage to submit a police report for all (or most) of the stolen things? I'd also check Ebay, just in case one of them pops up there...you never know O.o
People can be real jerks. I hope they are able to locate the stolen goods.
I guess go as fast as you can, or someone close to her go as fast as they can to every single pawn shop in the area. and see if any of those things turn up there before they are sold. Frankly, I can't go to a pawn shop and buy something because I feel like everything I want or pick up could have belonged to someone that had it stolen from them :C
I hope their moms are proud of them. and that they get caught early tomorrow.
My thoughts are with her and you, I hope you both can get through this. :(
Unfotunately there are these people out there, who don't seem to think at all what kind of trouble and grief their actions cause to other people...
I am so sorry.
The one thing that might really make this case a priority -- ? (I hate to say this, but it's sadly true sometimes with break-ins?) The guns (depending on the state) make this a grand theft, and a felony. The antique guns make it a much more serious crime.
I hope they find who did this, and she gets her irreplaceable items back. :( So, so sorry.
What I can add to the above advices is maybe raise some Hell on any somewhat relevant local forums/newsgroups/whatever? If word spreads wide enough on the Net, might work out.
And by somewhat relevant, I mean even places like jewelers' boards.
I don't know how many people hand-make golf clubs, but I have a feeling that they would be unique enough that a pawn shop dealer would recognize them. I really hope she finds the cherished items...
My deepest, deepest sympathies.
Suspicious as I am, I would think that someone in the building who knew both women were away may be a culprit.
If she is in need, you can contact me for help.
That suggestion to talk to all the pawn shops was a good one. Though if it is made of gold (can't tell from the photos and it's not in the desc, but it looks gold-ish) you might also contact some of those stores that have 'cash for gold' business. Something that unique will definitely be noticed!
