Micro-commission funds go to whichever series people want them to and I'll put some sort of record keeper showing how far along they are to funding a chapter of said series.

In my current commission queue I have one chapter of "Drift", a chapter of "Code of Dishonor", a chapter of the "Truce" series and the rest are independent/original/stand alone stories.

And we can contribute funds even when commissions are closed right?

That is correct. Micro-commissions are an all times thing.
