History of the Chimeric Dragoness

Yay! New journal is posted for all!
Originally, it all started from the love of a certain Velociraptor from Beast Wars: Transformers, you guessed it...the original Dinobot. From the very first time of hearing this guy transform and releasing his warrior cry at the same time, as well as my love of the Jurassic Park Velociraptors, he was an instant favorite for me. At first, I just drew fanart about him, or when I felt confident enough to do so and upload it for the world to see.
Over time, I kept thinking of how unbalanced his appearance looked as the arms were so much thinner than the hind legs and his tail was much too thin to serve as a proper counter-balance to his form. So, I began experimenting with lengthening out his arms to turn him into a quadrupedic creature. After this change, it dawned on me that his tail was too thin and short, he looked a bit silly now. So, I extended the tail out to more match up with being of use and thickened it to be stronger.
When this was done, I came to realize that this fanart of Dinobot had evolved into something else entirely but did not know as to what at the time. I knew something was forming from this but as to what, remained unknown and would not discover until years later.
Again, the admiration for the prehistoric creatures...but of the herbivore kind, came into play and I kept thinking of how awesome the head armor looked on the Triceratops. Well, it didn't take me long to decide to try it out on the creature I had started "in the works" and quickly came to love the change, it became permanent.
I should note that at some point another character attracted me to the idea of forward facing horns, Tiger of the Wind; from Monster Rancher, I just can't pinpoint where exactly.
It was roughly at this point in time to when I had started getting heavily into playing Primal Rage, on the Sega Genesis (Model 2). As I spent countless hours on this game, in failed efforts to beat the computer AI past level 8; difficulty went up to 16, without struggling at it, I decided to just get better at the easier levels. I did try out all the characters to see if there would be any particular favorites and any that I would absolutely hate. It didn't take me long to figure out that Talon was my best fighter; he was quick, agile and shorter than the rest of the combatants, which granted me a smaller hitbox for the computer to land on. As well as a pain in the ass to deal with to when I had to fight my twin/clone, or fight against with another dinosaur.
Talon's color markings definitely caught my eye and I soon incorporated that into the creature to which remained as a WIP. Of course, i couldn't go around calling it "Talon", due to potential copyright issues if I ever went further with it and decided to make my creature a girl, for obvious reasons. So certainly, "Talona"; silly I know, was out of the question and my unnamed creature remaining without an identity of her own.
In hopes that I would find an inspiration for a name for my creation, I went back to playing Primal Rage more and decided to attempt "mastering" another fighter as since I had just about done that with Talon. The only female fighter to the characters; Vertigo, interested me with her design and colors to her scaled hide. This serpentine dino quickly earned, at first, my absolute hate to fight against due to her abilities and long-range capacity in the heat of battle. Despite how much I initially hated this thing, I decided that I might have a better chance if I could learn her moves and see what she is capable of when under the control of a human mind/fingers. Well, it took a while and at times, frustrating as fuck to the point of when I wanted to throw the game out the window. But, I didn't and it kept luring me back to play...to which inevitably had me liking the snake-dino hybrid.
Talon and Vertigo quickly became my best fighters, particularly making use of Talon's natural speed and ferocity, and Vertigo's tail reach and sorcery abilities. Her deadiliest move; in my opinion, and one of the hardest to do...is the Scorpion Strike, this can either be a K.O. or a critical hit. Depending on how close your opponent is to when you execute it and or how low their health is to when it hits.
Towards the end though, Veritgo ending up winning me over to really liking her and her skin palette, plus my general liking of the color blue, led me to try it out on my creature in progress. So, the tiger-like pattern from the 'raptor was washed away in exchange for the blue color but I didn't completely obliterate him from having some imprint on the creature as his eyes remained behind. This, would be the start to the standard eye appearance of the species to come later down the road.
Vertigo's ability to spit venom and long range combat abilities gave me the idea to put venom into the creature I was refining, tuning into something of my own. Initially, the fangs that I had added to the upper jaw were foldable, as with any venomous serpent, but it never sat right with me as I tried to add more teeth into the maw to give my creature a fiercer appearance. In time, I decided to forgo the sheathed hollow teeth and made them constantly visible instead but retaining their injecting capacity. Like the blue dinosaur, I added a retractable stinger at the end of the tail.
Attempting to copy the exact markings from the serpentine creature proved to be in vain, time and time again; mostly from the lack of good references to see said pattern, and that they just didn't "fit right". If that makes any sense. As I started playing around with the patterns, I couldn't help but think back to the raptor that had caught my attention from so long ago and wanted to pay "homeage" to him, as he was the beginning to her. So, I thought no better means of doing so than to resemble his own dark brown icicles that dominated over the Beast Mode.
Now, I needed a name for my creation as I had really liked the end result to what I had created, despite how long it had taken. I had come across a series known as DragonMaster, to which I still am missing the blue sea dragon from the series but oh well. The red dragon; Sargoth, reminded me a little of my own creation...with the horns on top of the head and temperment for personality. I don't know how long I stared at that name at times, I liked how it was spelt and the ring to it; it was powerful, unique and original. So, I decided to use this as her name but adding an "a", to make it more feminine sounding....finally, she was complete.
Thanks for reading and now you know just how my scale-sona came to be.

Also fun note as I was curious to see if there was a Skyrim Dragon Name Generator...and sure enough, there was one. XD
Made up a new Shout that I think would be fun to be implemented - Iiz Gol Rahgol - Ice Earth Rage [Causes Avalanche]
And tried to figure out what Sargotha's name would be in Skyrim, closest I got was this - Gol Okaaz Ah [Earth Sea Hunter]
Go have some fun! XD
