Nothing would happen. A tornado is caused by two winds blowing in opposite directions and unless you can stop the wind then you can't stop the tornado. All the explosion would do is just nothing really.

that's no fun xp i'd actually expect it to disrupt the air currents. like, with an explosion that's as big, or bigger than the tornado... or a nuke >.>

Wind comes from a loooong ways away, you can't affect it at the impact point. That's like stopping a waterfall by standing under it.

but the force of the explosion would disrupt the wind current. with a large enough one, i'd think it'd dissapate. and with the waterfall, if you disrupted the stream, you'd disrupt it.

The analogy was about where you are trying to affect forces. YES, you can kill a waterfall from upstream. If you disrupt the wind far away from the tornado in a DRAMATIC way PERMANENTLY it will cease it. But we're talking at the point where they meet.

good point. but it's just something to think about. i don't think it's actually been tested ever, and if it has... i must find it. there's actually a lot that could happen with it, though it'd take some weird people to test it

Theoretically the funnel of a tornado could be stopped before it starts. But the funnel isn't the entire tornado. The only real way to stop a tornado weather system is a massive pressure shift to normalise the cell.

So yes, but not for long. The funnel would reappear within minutes.

Not really. in all likelihood the funnel will come back in the same location. The costs would more than likely outweigh any possible benefit.
