you choose

“And it is still true, no matter how old you are -- when you go out into the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.”
Life is what you make it some might say. But it's not quite that simple. Every day we battle with insecurities. Little voices telling us we aren't good enough or we have no goal or our expectations are too high.
Sometimes we try to achieve something and fall miserably short of our goal and suddenly are dreams are in tatters around our feet.
Some people find optimism where there is none, other people prefer to skulk in pessimism for fear if getting their hopes dashed. Some people can't see the wood for the trees whereas other people can't see the dangers that lay before them.
None of these approaches are wrong. We have all grown up in a unique fashion. A collection of incidents and memories have shaped you into the person you have become and has given you strengths and weaknesses. It's our choice what we chose to do in life. Our actions dictate what is available to us and how we can press forward.
You might feel alone sometimes that you're the only one struggling but we all are. Trying our hardest to do what we feel we must.
I think the point of this journal is that you dont have to do these things alone. We are a community and we've proven time and time again that we can stand together and help one another. You dint have to suffer in silence. You can talk to people here and they will help.
We are all just muddling through. But never truly alone. That is your choice.

and i agree no one is ever alone
Thank you for helping others and posting stuff like this- it really is a bright spot in my day.
However, you have a point that its a choice... I guess in due time I'll have to make up my mind and stop teeter tottering as in the end I'm really am being quite the trouble right now for doing so.
You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
For a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting --
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
Yeah, I'm a cynic, and the chances of my doing anything I dream of is nil, but I love to gamble, and what is more worthy to wager your time on than your dreams? It's a bet I always want to make alone though. My life isn't worth other peoples' time, but for a reason I'll never understand, my girl will always give me a loan when I lose everything on my reckless calls. (Clearly the best metaphor ever... clearly)
