my view on Ponies...you may like my opinion.
I absolutely love them.
but, I feel the ponies need to be
treated the same way as the internet, or the Bedroom
and the Bathroom....my point is, the right time and place.
I was in a livestream session tonight and someone was sketching something
and they happened to have a pony/techno song on and so much hate
went out for ponies, but it wasn't hate for ponies as it was hate
for the fandom....who gives a shit, thats really how I feel about it.
if you love it fine, if you don't fine, why all this angst towards a fandom
I don't really understand it, if you don't like it then don't participate.
the Internet:
It's a place to go to for entertainment, business and education,
and yes it can even be used as a tool for the family, and when
the family is gone time to use this tool as a toy for your own
naughty behavior...it's all about Time and Place.
The Bedroom:
it's where you tuck your kids in at night, read them stories
or simply a place to just escape in you own little private dome,
and it's also referenced as the place where majority of people
fuck...again, time and place.
The Bathroom:
well, I guess I don't have to make any real analogy's
it's a bathroom, from what I can tell in life most people don't
like to invite friends in there with them when doing their business
however, this is still something for everyone.
and the Ponies:
I can't defend this,
because when I was 11-12 years old, my childhood sexual fantasies
involved Sonic the Hedgehog which is still kinda relevant till this day,
it's just a part of me that I've grown up with and this piece of my
life has grown up with me, based on this site and many others, clearly
I'm not the only one, just like the ponies, I haven't really gone all out
on pony pron except for neokat as a pony, and even then it's just a
big floppy wang on a pony but for some reason when I see this fandom
accepted for the way that it is I can completely understand from the
perspective of myself growing up with a weird sonic fetish much like
these folks with a pony fetish...I guess what I'm saying is, who really
gives a shit.
during the day, this is a really cute show and really helps me to connect
with my daughter and understand characters and stories that my
girlfriend has had growing up with ponies, learning characters names
and personalities, so much tangible characteristics about that ponies
that not a lot of cartoons had as I was growing up....can anyone remember
how bad the Thundercats dialogue sounded in the original show, I for one
LOVE Thundercats, but even as a kid they felt like flat characters who
sounded very monotone.
A good example of what I'm saying is,
I've never watched a kid show about a pink manic depressant pony
who spends most of her life forcing herself to be happy. I love pinky
pie, but i swear to God all I can think when I see that poor girl is
"that girl needs to get laid" and the reason I think this is because
this kind of behavior reflects actual people, but that's a good thing,
that is insanely impressive character development especially with a kid
show.
I don't know what it is about watching the show I love but for me,
these characters actually seem like women.....that are ponified.....
and whose real life problems are reduced to quite a bit more of a
simplistic scenario, however they are still addressed with just as
much emotion and character as any adult show would present.
I may be wrong and I'm just looking waaaaay to deep into it,
but that's how I see it.
and God knows I'm gonna get a lot of folks who may poke holes in
my theory behind why the ponies are how they are, but it doesn't
matter because that's just how I perceive it, I can't help it.
I guess the point I really want to make is, "why all the hate?"
if it bothers you don't participate, if you really dig it for either
the wrong reasons or the right reasons, then enjoy.
in the end it's really just simply about human etiquette
the right time and place.

Aww crap, i just shared a feeling ;P
In other news... I like em to, and kinda sorta agree. :) kinda sorta... ish...
It doesn't help Hasbro's cracking down on the adult fans and all. People are blaming each other for it. And it's just got everyone jumpy and unhappy cause it's pretty much just a matter of time before Hasbro breaks everything and then it's Micheal Bay movies. Just like they did to Transformers and GI Joe.
I'm neutral to the show, its not bad or good, just not my cup of tea. My problem is the fandom trying to insert MLP into every single thing, it feels like its being shoved down my throat. So many good artists I watch are turning into bronies, and the unwatch button become so tempting.
and as of now it's a pop cultural fad,
and like all fads it will eventually fade,
but until then I'm just gonna enjoy the rain
until the story passes.
storm passes.
I gotta learn to spell better when typing, lol.
been voicing for the past 20 years too, I mean how many times do they have to
re-dub it, if you ask me teamFourStars DBZ abridged on youtube is probably the
best dubbing I've seen in that past few years for Dragon Ball yet,
but I agree with you, it's just like what I said to
it's really just a fad thats made a huge impression for the moment,
so in my opinion the best thing to do for now is enjoy it while it lasts
it may be fun to look back years from now and think "why the fuck was
that ever popular?" just my opinion but I feel it to be true.
her and Ter have grown up completely with ponies all the way from the original
series up until now, at first Ter hated the NEW ponies, and in the same respect
I hated the NEW thundercats, but it's because your forced to create a new
generation of nostalgia around what you've already come to know and love
now its the same dish but prepared by different cooks, it doesn't mean it's bad
just a different taste, so once Ter finally sat down to it she started gradually getting
more and more into it so much so that she loves the new ones even more then the
old ones simply because story telling evolution has really improved since kid
show plots from the 80s.
oh, and some cool nostalgia throwback
bet you can't make a face crazier then this:

I watched the original pilot for the first series, it was almost on par with the new ones but after that they immediately downgraded animation and all. The first one had threats of beheading and slavery and all kinds of high fantasy shit turning things into creatures in order to bring about an eternal night time with a chariot drawn by dragons. Then they had tea parties... lots of tea parties.
and I did really like it, but then the rest is all kinda flat...
there is another really cool episode from the old series where this
giant demon dog made of rock starts attacking ponyville and the only
way to stop it is to take the "heart" from this mountain so that the
demon dog learns to love making his rock skin soft...yea it's stupid
but whats cool is when they take the heart from inside the mountain
the mountain loses it and start going all primal apeshit and angry
because he has no heart......
long story short, "no time for love doctor Jones"
yea, there are a few episodes I can dig from the old series,
but the writing is just seems so much better in the new ones,
just my opinion but i think it stands.
but I think most people are on board with
Sonic having gone down hill quite a bit since genesis.
but,
I would have to agree that the fans really seem to be
what keep sonic alive, mostly on just his style alone.
