Star Fox 64 is the only one of the franchise I have, and from what I've seen and heard, the only one I want till they bother to make a better one... other than the remake in 3D... which I don't have the 3DS...
Also, why shouldn't you play it on the Wii?
People got butthurt because Star Fox Adventures is not a space shooter, rather, it's an action/adventure rpg that uses the Ocarina of Time engine (the game was actually supposed to be completely different, but Miyamoto fucked it up by turning it into a Star Fox game rather than leaving the project alone). The story is fairly solid, but the end is very anti-climactic.
Assault was meh, because it was made by Bandai, who made it into an Ace Combat rail shooter in space; extremely linear with no way to select what world to go to next. Plot wasn't bad, but they did take a lot from Star Trek's the Borg. It had sections where you were in a 3rd person shooter (which wasn't bad, and it wasn't the first time a Star Fox game did that. It's an unlockable mode in SF64) then jumped into your fighter, but the big problem was that it was linear, with no ways of exploration.
Armada was good, but the main problem with Armada was too many endings, and no one at Nintendo having the balls to say, "This is the official ending."
Of all of the newer ones; Adventures is the better, since it is open world.
Why play it on the Cube and not the Wii? I've played it on both consoles, and I honestly like playing it on the Cube more than the Wii (plus to play Cube Games on the Wii, you have to have an older Wii, since Nintendo pulled all Cube support for later models).
I didn't know that... thanks, I'll have to be careful about that, my Wii still plays GCN games, especially since my Cube stopped working do well... it only wants to play Animal Crossing or Game Boy Player...
I just need memory cards, as they got stolen...
I wish they would just make a Star Fox 65 as it were... they must know that the fans prefer the 64 version, right?
and I had heard about Dinosaur Planet, I got Nintendo Power... at least I did back then...
Fans love both the original and 64. Armada is the closest thing they've made to a SF64 game since the mid 90's. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they do another reboot of the franchise, it's probably in their best interest.
And I'm not a huge Krystal fan. Doesn't mean I don't like her, I just think she doesn't belong in Star Fox. The game she was going to be in, Dinosaur Planet, would have been a much better game, especially if Miyamoto hadn't fucked it up and turned it into Star Fox Adventures.
Before it was defeating the T-rex with bombs grrrr
On GameCube btw
Cost me $5 from a garage sale
In recent memory, a game I finished to 100% Completion was Mark of the Ninja. I love that game! I highly recommend it.
