Foxes on the Brain

So after beating Star Fox Adventures, I have Krystal on the brain. Now, I should clear up a few things.
1. I am not a fan of Krystal in the Star Fox series. I have never liked her in the Star Fox games (outside of Adventures). To me, she's always been a bit out of place. Which leads me to....
2. I like the character of Krystal. She has been a bit over drawn, but I still like her as a character, well, I like her as a character in Star Fox Adventures. Really don't like her in any of the other games after that. In all honestly, I really wish she would have gotten her own game, the original game she was supposed to show up in; Dinosaur Planet.

I was ok with Krystal, probably because I wanted to fantasize about doing her. But still I thought she was an ok addition to the series.

They already had Fara Pheonix. Only reason Krystal exists is because she was a carry over from the original game, Dinosaur Planet, and it was much easier to keep Krystal and redo Saber into Fox than to start a new game from scratch.

i guess nintendo figured they needed a female protagonist for the series as the series was pretty popular. why they never chose any of the others they made is beyond me other then the fact that nintendo said "hey a fox guy, we have a fox guy, lets take this project"

Actually, they never thought that. Miyamoto killed Dinosaur Planet because the game was to release on N64 right before the launch of the Game Cube. Miyamoto, after viewing the demos for Dinosaur Planet, mentioned that Saber (wolf, not a fox), the original protagonist, looked like Fox, and in an executive decision, told rare to replace Saber. Also, if they wanted a female protagonist, they would have kept Krystal as a playable character, a feature that was cut from the original game.
