*facepalm* Doctor was an IDIOT.
So as you know, we were waiting for information from the doctor.
My dad's better than he was that first day. But now he has a cold from all the sick people there. So he is not happy. Also, it's common for people to go into a depression after a heart attack. ALSO, they moved him from the penthouse of intensive care to the crappy, crowded "general" Cardiac Care area.
So now dad's got a cold, he can't sleep because people are making fusses about a BUTTLOAD of other patients around him... so the nurse gives him a sleeping pill to help him rest.
Early this morning: While in deep sleep. Like, the MIDDLE of sleep where you remember nothing... the doctor arrives and wakes Dad up. Yeah, waking a heart attack patient while they're in deep sleep is a great idea... Without even letting him have a minute to wake up, he tells dad everything about what happened... while he's stil groggy from the sleeping pills the nurse gave him last night... and then Dad fell asleep again, because he had pills, he was in deep sleep, nurses kept waking him, and he's kind of old.
And now Dad doesn't even remember what the doctor told him. Doesn't know if his heart was damaged, if it's good or bad news, NOTHING. We're still in the dark here. The Doctor didn't have a happy or sad tone, you know how busy doctors are. So yeah, he's understandably pissed off, as is the rest of the family.
I'm sure we'll get some news soon enough, within a day or so, but this is getting really fucking irritating.

You would think that he would be more professional than this and that the hospital would keep a recent heart attack survivor out of infected areas.
He had a heart attack. lol
The names may differ from hospital to hospital and some levels may not be available at some hospitals.
and sorry to say but i might not have done the studies but i spend nearly my whole childhood stuck in a clinic
and i saw stuff that could make shudder a LOT of people...
"You dumbass!"
Well I do hope everything works out for your dad and your family Beau.
best thing to do: have someone, family or friends, be around so they don't do things they shouldn't do to your dad like give him pills then abruptly wake him.
I know a lot of what the hospital staff does doesn't seem to make sense, but believe me everything that they do is to ensure that the patient stays healthy. Even waking the patient up every 2 hours at night.
I could understand her doing that if I had just said "I don't know where it hurts, exactly." and that was it (though why anyone would be stupid enough to say that, I don't know. It's your body, you know where it hurts. Or you at least know the general area.), but I told her exactly where it hurt. And she poked me there anyway. Does she have the attention span of a goldfish, or something? I swear, in a rush to cover everybody's asses, they seem to have forgotten about yours.
This entire comic series might make you smile, but that strip in particular always sticks out in my mind.
It is like a juggling act. So many patience & so little time. Also your feet gets so sore & it is hard to keep people straight, so most info is put into charts. Maybe you can get a hold of a copy of his charts & when you can, sit down his doctor & have him explain it in laymen terms.
Seems that the family needs to arrange a person appointment with the doctor. Hospitals can be so hectic...
