SimCity 2013 (Update)
So after long.... HARD.... consideration.
I will be getting SimCity 2013. I've been watching a couple people play it and gawddamn I WANT IT.
Does anyone play?
If so. I have a question. Would anyone be willing to GIVE me $20 or so to put towards the game? Or just perhaps give me the full amount to purchase it?
In return I would do a favor for this person, such as get an artwork piece of our characters, or their character solo. Whatever they would want.
Lemme know :3

Since it's currently being fix/almost fixed the game runs so much smoother now, with being able to connect more.
Also, the AI is dumb. Your police and firetrucks wont do what they need to do, cause the pathfinding is nonexistent. Online DRM sucks. Origin sucks. They can choose at anytime to take the servers offline, meaning you DO NOT own the game, you are just borrowing it and playing it when they allow.
Outside of the always online issue, and the whole "servers go away in the future" (which doesn't matter, because by the time that HAPPENS, you'll have moved on to a new game anyway, or at least most likely), I don't have any qualms with the game. At least not since I heard they're working on traffic and such.
add me and we can play simcity together somtime :3
First off, a lot of people assumed this would be similar to the old Sim City titles. It's not, and if you watched, you know this.
Secondly, the way traffic works, as well as emergency vehicles, is kind of buggy, but they said thats going to be worked on in the next patch. Busses actually make things worse if you don't place them correctly. Try to keep them to highways, as well as on both sides for the same stop.
Thirdly, "sims" don't "live" in their homes. The agents travel from home to nearest open job, and return to nearest open home. This causes some areas of the city to be without a job, or without workers. But I found that building a city like so....

Eliminates that issue. Also, "tourists" will also follow this rule, going to the nearest commercial building or casino to spend their money, rather than traveling to said areas. So if you aim to build a tourist city, you need to keep that in mind, building the casino's further up near you city, or directly next to the rail station.
Keep in mind, that if you build mines/wells/etc and then a trade depot, if you have the trade depot set up on the same side of the road, but further up, the delivery truck will have to go all the way down, u-turn, drive all the way up, u-turn, and THEN drop it off. I also don't recommend a trade city in a city that only has ONE high way connection, as it gets REALLY clogged up.
All in all though, they're working on fixing things. I don't have huge issues with the game, once I figured out how to set things up, its fairly straight forward.
You can't design a city how you'd like
Tourism is broken
The game continues on whether you try and do anything or not. Do a quick Google about the population inflation and absolute lack of flexibility. It's entirely possible to get a city of 200k with no businesses, no industry, and no other cities in the region.
I can get it for $35 at the moment.
THanks :3
So I can't say whether or not you should buy it, but I understand that feeling. *-*
