Responding to appreciation shown.

Okay, I've encountered a second person who considers shouts thanking them for watches or favs to be spam and annoying.
Seriously, dude.... consider this scenario:
I receive a surprise gift from someone in the mail, out of the blue. I go out and buy a nice thank you note and send it to them. The next day, I get a phone call.
"Why did you send me a thank you note?!"
"Because I wanted to show my appreciation for the gift."
"UGH!! Don't you know Thank You Notes are annoying and Junk Mail? What is WRONG with you?"
NO!!! What is wrong with YOU, Dude??? How long does it take to delete a shout you don't want? You're as stupid as the people who complain when someone DOESN'T send them a note or shout thanking them for a watch or fav. Realize you are in a VERY small minority, and the problem is YOURS, not theirs. You don't like thank you shouts, fine. Just delete them. But calling them spam and annoying?? That's just cold.

Seriously, they could just as easily download the stuff, and NOBODY would know.
Oh, but then it would spam their hard drive.... Geez....
It's ridiculous to call it spam. If they are getting that many that they consider it spam, maybe they are faving too much.
And yeah, obviously there's a difference between someone's profile saying "You're welcome for the faves/watches, please do not leave shouts" and it saying "OMG people who leave thanks for watches/faves shouts should eat 5000000 dicks and die in a hole!!!!"
And I've run into people who seem to fav EVERYTHING!! Their shouts are all less than two days old. I don't know how they can have so many favs, but apparently they do.
I just find it rude to complain that someone is thanking them.
SHOUT NOTES: I love getting 'em, but I do clear 'em out on a regular basis. Thanks! :)
I will normally comment on a submission that I fav (there are a few exceptions, but they know who they are, and they know why). So, if you don't thank me for the fav, it's no problem.
Also, different people fav for different reasons. Some seem to fav everything from every person they watch. I think that's a bit excessive, since they are watching them, and can go visit their gallery any time they want.
What I would love to know, however, is when someone downloads a submission of mine. I don't need to know who, I just would love to know how many like my stuff enough to put it on their own computer.
But, yes, when in doubt, thank.
Plus, the request might be in the journal, it might be in the shouts, it might be in the profile... It could be anywhere. You really expect someone to scan the page of every person they want to thank, looking for something that is most likely NOT there? Spending ten times the amount of time it takes them to drop a quick thank you just so you don't have to delete their shout? That's too much to ask, if you ask me.
You ask too much.
