Yep, the last part was Bachri's little April Fool
Part 26
>You used Runic Stone! (Note: No Runic Stones were harmed in the making of this April Fools joke :D)
*Woosh*
Huh? What just happened?
You stood by a large hole near the Temple of Nanako, somehow forgetting what just happened in the last few minutes. You turned to face the road, feeling an odd crick in your neck as you did so, and remembered that you were heading to Mora's hut. Your bladder was still intently reminding you that you would have to pee soon, so you quickly decided to find a place to relieve yourself along the way- and DEFINITELY not anywhere near the temple. Why your brain was so insistent on this, you had no idea.
>Tied for B and D
(Low Emb and High Att stats provide a privacy bonus: People around you don't notice your need.)
Clutching yourself slightly and letting go when passing Wenta members could see you, you made your way down the familiar streets that formed the path to the tribe Healer's residence. Unfortunately, you didn't see any viable place to duck into until just before reaching the street that led down to Mora's front door. Someone had set out a small pot of flowers that looked like they were dying of thirst in a shady little corner. While you couldn't help the plants by bringing them into the light, which would make your activities a bit too obvious, you could still think of another way to help them. Making sure that you weren't spotted while trespassing on this stranger's property, you stealthily made your way over to the flower pot and squatted over it.
You allowed a full minute to pass- all the while, your bladder struggling to be released while you were in the natural position- in order to make sure that nobody would see you from inside the nearby house and start yelling at you before pulling your loincloth aside and finally allowed your body it's relief. In less than a second, you felt the rush of warm liquid shooting through you, and heard the powerful hiss as it hit the dirt below. You half-expected someone to just wander by and start scolding you right then and there, but nothing was said, and nothing was seen except by you as you continued to pee freely into someone's pot. It doesn't take too long going on like this for your stream to weaken and end, giving the flowers some vital nutrients. Not bothering to clean up, you stand back on your feet and let your loincloth fall back into place, concealing your slit from all except those who might try to sneak a peek.
(Peemeter: -100%)
With that taken care of, you move out of the shadows and quickly reach Mora's hut, knocking on the door a couple of times and being opening the door. As expected, a few other Hunters were already here, getting their wounds fixed from the earlier battle. Thankfully there were not many that needed it, and you wanted to ask Mora your questions quickly. You spotted the elder Bobcat wrapping up someone's arm in cloth, forming a crude, yet effective cast, and approached her.
"Mora, it's me again. Do you mind if I ask a few things?"
She turned her attention towards you slightly, if only to identify the one who was asking.
"Ah, Anamaki. It's nice to see you again, child. Go and ask away."
You shifted slightly, not sure how to phrase your questions. But now that you had Mora's attention, there was no way that you couldn't just stay silent, so you simply allowed your questions to come forth.
"Is there anything you know about these Canids that you didn't tell me before?"
"Of course not, Ana. I've told you all I know of these creatures."
You pondered this for a moment. She had indeed told you what SEEMED to be all of her knowledge on this subject, but you were well aware of the wily old Healer's reputation for being incredibly cryptic, compressing any detail that she saw fit. She never lied, but she often omitted details and packaged them into riddles. And you had a strong suspicion that this one of those times. You recalled the details of your last conversation...
They have weapons that we cannot comprehend. Strange air surrounds them, though which they have poisoned the Hunters.
Ever since the first Canid attacks, every Council member- including your parents- have felt tainted, touched by an unknown force.
There is some talk, of course, about secrets that the Council is keeping silent about.
There was no doubt that she knew more than this. She has to know the answers to these statements. She was so confident about the things she said. The only way to get at those answers, however, was to attack her claims from the right angle and feign ignorance of her points. She had a well-established reputation for being honest, even if she was as cryptic as a crypt, and the elder would never allow her words to be misinterpreted- as long as you pretended to misinterpret her entire meaning, she would elaborate.
