Kyle + Rosemary

Recently I was watching the show "Random Cartoons" on the channel Nicktoons, and I saw this little cartoon and liked it:
Now yes, it's simple, it's an old story, but when it comes to old stories if it is told well it can be enjoyable, and this in my opinion is told well.
And I for one do really like it for quite a few reasons.
For one it is simple and realistic. I personally can see two people becoming good friends or even falling in love all because they met on a video game.
I like it because there isn't some love triangle going on here with that one character that even though the other person doesn't like them, will doggidly persue them and not take no for an answer, a character like Zapp Branigan from Futurama for instance.
And I like it as it is short, simple, and to the point. Neither one of them is in any danger, neither one of them is a terminal patient in a hospital, it's just two ordinary people you could see in any school that happened to fall in love all because of meeting on a video game.
So yeah, like it, hate it, it doesn't matter, I just wanted to share.

Nice and simple.
They didn't take a massive risk there at the end, but they did still take a risk by coming to that dance like that.
His character is meant to be insincere but he lacked the actual snake charming to draw the viewer in.
It's embarrassing how every time he encounters a pretty female face, which I swear is like 6-7 times including instances not shown during the film, and then goes through the same shallow crap.
You can judge everything by their appearances in this film, which is not good at all.
At least I care not to see the movie anyway.
Of course Oz saves the day by using his ingenuity and such, but so much of the emphasis was on people depending on a saviour, who really was just a guide in the end.
One scene involves the Wicker Witch's transformation which is barely symbolic at all, it's a flat-out statement that she is being corrupted and can be judged by her appearances, she even wants Oz to see what she has become, she he did to her. Remember what I said about him encountering a pretty face time and time again?
The fact that he can be so easily swayed by a pretty face is the only thing that spared Glinda when he was sent to go steal, and then break her wand.
Kyle and Rosemary actually had better issues and resolution by far, with the conflicts of two individuals from different cliques and are willing to take bold steps for one another, and was much more relatable.
And yeah, like I said up there, what you see in K+R is realistic and believable, like those two could be one of your classmates.
That all was very predictable though.
Exactly so, K+R I could see being anyone trying to manage, Oz though I had a hard time even being someone that selfish and deceitful would even behave in such a way, presented in that situation.
He just tries to tongue whatever sweet thing that comes his way.
Indeed, just one of those non-relatable characters.
With a lead character like that, who was the film for exactly?
The only laughs coming from the film were particularly cheap ones that could've fit into anything. Let's give the grumpy character a smile on a stick to hold over his face, har har.
It's kind of like if Futurama stared Zapp Branigan, it wouldn't be as good. Yeah Fry may be as dumb as a sack of hammers, but he does have some redeaming qualities that make him human.
They'll continue to do what turns a profit even if the film isn't necessarily worthwhile in the end.
Zapp Branigan really is meant to be a once in a while character, but they started featuring him too frequently in newer episodes as well.
Fry, yeah he's very relatable, he's got a simple job, reasonably nice life considering his ineptitude, he's a guy you might like to hang around despite his awkward or off-putting habits. He's someone you wanna follow.
Yeah, a guy you can learn lessons from, like you learn from his failures kind of thing.
It's like "Grease", but short, not a musical and with no real questionable morals, so I consider this a much better story. Thanks for sharing!
And I am glad that you enjoyed it. =3
