Greetings to Everyone,
Once again, thank you very much for making our convention a success it's first year. With 473 attendees, we were just overflowing with excitement during the convention, and the exciting prospect of being able to bring this to you every year.
To that end, we scheduled the only weekend available to us in April and announced it at Closing Ceremonies that 2014 would be Apr 18th - 20th. It was brought to our attention afterwards that April 20th is Easter Sunday next year.
So several questions have been brought up about this related to having the convention on Easter next year, possibly having it on Easter every year, and It was also suggested to target the last weekend of March every year.
The only complication is that Easter Weekend fluctuates across about six weeks every year, so we are guaranteed to be on Easter weekend at least once or twice in a five year span, even if were in the last weekend of March, unless we deliberately move around it.
Myself and
RazorWulff will be going in to Negotiate (hopefully) a five year contract for the hotel next week. So we need to find out what our attendees think.

Rather than late March, why not early March?
- It gets out of the way of Easter / Furry Connection North / Ocean City Doodah Parade
- It isn't going to snow in Baltimore
- There's nothing going on anywhere in the Northeast in January, February, or March except for Delaware Furbowl, which coincidentally always has its highest attendance in February. Sounds like furries are bored and need something to do in the winter/early spring!
Also, take this as you like, but IMVHO negotiating a 5-year contract at that hotel might be a mistake also. Based on how incredibly successful this cons first year is, i wouldn't be surprised to see the attendance double next year due to word of mouth from all the positive comments & feedback regarding this con. What if it does? then doubles again in 2 years to 2,000? What is the capacity that hotel could handle? What are the penalties if you need to find a bigger hotel in the event it does happen?
