Thanks, Microsoft!

So the update the other day killed my system: it would run for about 10-15 minutes, slow to a crawl, and then freeze up. Thus, no streams this weekend. The bad news is it cost me a pile of money to deal with. Mind you, that was my own doing: my system was rather old and out of date, so I chose to upgrade it, and that meant buying a bunch of hardware. There was also the fun of finding out that it was an Nvidia driver update that Microsoft pushed out that killed the system: It also killed the next two installs of Windows on the new system, until i figured out what was doing it and killed that update. Third time's the charm. So now I'm on a very new system, and in the process of rebuilding all the software. I'm doubtful that I'll be able to stream today, either, but hopefully Wednesday.

Windows 8, by and large, is the reason why.
No. There is no sarcasm here, seriously.
Anyhow, I sympathize -- I hate wasting a weekend fixing a PC. But on the bright side, you have some shiny new parts, right? :)
Me, I'm with
No wonder it's been running like a champ.
