What we do here at ~Plasmafox~

Decided that there should be a Journal made to tell you guys a little about what I do. In order to make my cut outs I use a system know as a Plasma table. It is a very expensive piece of equipment that is a computer run plasma torch to cut the metal. It takes a lot of programing to get each piece I do to look right in the metal. First I must turn each image into a bitmap file in order to load it into the program I use. This usually means I have to go in and edit the artwork to make it look right when changed into a bitmap. After this I then have to redraw the artwork in the program using only lines, angles, bulges, and circles. I have to do this in order to make sure it will cut out of the metal right and looks nice. This whole process is the most time consuming part of making my metal work and takes the most time. Once that is done I then I take the file to the computer running the plasma table and cut it out. After this is done I then use a metal grinder to clean up the metal and make it look nice. I then will do any welding if needed by the piece and do a final look over to make sure everything is right. At this point if I decide to I will then paint it or clear coat the piece of metal. This is really just a simple explanation of what goes on, so if you have any other questions about it please feel free to ask.
I can also tig, mig, and oxy!
