A Shoutout to the bestest friend a girl could ask for
12 years ago
So today is my mothers 60th birthday, and I'm stuck across the Atlantic ocean while she only has my dad to celebrate with as no family could come be with her on the day. I ordered her favourite flowers to be delivered last Friday and when I called last night to ask what she got in the post, she said nothing had come. My heart sank and I bawled my guts out having wanted to make the day special for her. In the end we found out that the flower company gave me a confirmation but canceled my order due to my IP address being different than what I normally order from (which duh, yes it would be, you know.. moving across the world and all) but they failed to contact me to tell me about it and just left it as it was.
I was biting my finger nails hoping to have solved the issue of the flowers but have no idea when they'll actually show up for her. Early this morning (for me) my little brain was running at 100mph trying to figure out what on earth I could get done for her so that it'll show up on time just in case the flowers dont make it.
I messaged
leviathan248 about a favour and asked if he would be willing to make the trip all the way to my parents place and bring them lunch and let me be on the phone when he does it. It's not exactly the same thing as me being there, but it was worth a shot. Lovingly, Levi said yes and he got up this morning, drove all the way to my parents favourite place for food, picked it up and drove it to them. He went to the door, and my mother opened it surprised to see Levi standing there. Luckily she knows who he is as we've been friends for 13 years now. (Wow I feel old now!) He handed her the food, and some for my dad as well and she was blown away. I couldn't see her smile, but I could hear and feel it. It was the best birthday present we could get her, and she loved every second of it. It will definitely be the most memorable moment for her on a birthday, because of the strange and silly arrangement, but the amount of love that went into it makes it worth it.
I couldn't have given my mom the happiness she deserves without the help of Levi. You're a brother, a best friend, and someone I'll always treasure. I love you more than you'll ever know.
Oh, and thank you for breaking the law for me, too. :B Oh ho ho.
