Part 30
C: Go to Mora with more questions
(There is no agreement on what should be done for something to drink. So Ana drinks nothing.)
You dislike the idea of bothering Mora with more of your trivial questions, but you've known her to be one of the most wise members of the Wenta, even more so than your own parents or the Temple of Nanako's priests. Her information is always reliable, even if a bit sketchy. With that in mind, you lead Phio toward the healer's hut, deciding that you don't want any of the drinks currently in your pack despite the dryness of your mouth.
(-1 HP from minor dehydration)
(Yeah, I don't really appreciate that this watersports story is turning away from the watersports aspect. So I'm putting in Dehydration effects. Drinking something stops Dehydration, obviously, and it will increase by 1 HP per turn until something is drank. This turn, -1 HP. Next turn, -2 HP. Turn after, -3 HP and so on.)
It doesn't take too long to reach the Healer's hut, though you notice that the sun is finally starting to slip down below it's highest point. It would only be a few more hours before sundown and the funeral. You walk into the hut for the second time today, with Phio close behind, and look around. Thankfully, it is far less crowded than it was earlier. Mora is only busy cooking something for herself and what few patients remained, proving once again how good she is at her job. You approach her, making sure not to be too silent, and greet her with a smile once she notices your presence.
"Hello again, Mora..."
"Hello, Ana. To what do I owe this visit?"
The bobcat didn't turn away from her meal-in-progress, again displaying her ability to multi-task.
"We need some help finding something. Have you ever heard of a plant called 'Glowstalk?'"
She turned to look at you with the slightest hint of surprise- probably the most surprised that you've ever seen her- for just a second before turning back to the food.
"Yes, I've heard of it. A very rare plant, indeed. As the name would imply, it glows brightly, but only when the sun is down. Glowstalk can only be found north of the village. As long as you travel far enough when the stars are high, you'll never miss it."
You decide to make a mental note of this. Look for Glowstalk in the north, at night. Guess you have something to look forward to after the funeral. You turn to leave again when Mora suddenly makes an offer.
"Anamaki, would you and your friend like to stay for a quick meal? I've made more than enough for myself and the people still needing attention."
It was certainly a tempting offer, but you weren't very hungry right now. Still, it was considered by some to be rude to ignore an elder's offer...
