I agree, some who gain popularity get sloppy...And it's really sad. :( Especially when I've seen some auctions go for upwards of $500...

You always did put a lot of cool little details in your pictures. My friend (Ferrit) got one done from you, and you even drew little feathers from her wings on the ground AND gave the little demon sperms horns, which i though was so freaking clever.

I will honor the one that paid me and allowed me to get comissioned. That's why I drop almost everything to draw what they ask me to.

o.O That's just sad. I feel bad for those commissioners/bidders. Even if you make a mistake and miss a big detail or forget to shade an area...how do you not spot it later, or at least attempt to correct it. That's just rude and lazy.

Yea especially mistakes..I once (okay..more than once) drew 6 fingers on a hand. As soon as people spotted it, I had to quickly edit it out to save my life. Lol.

If I'm not the customer I'd feel better if I don't critic a commissioned work. I'd rather not piss off or discourage the paid customer of the piece I'm trying to critic. I'll save this for personal pieces if you'd like critics. :x

High amounts of honor and respect towards you for this. I keep telling my friends that basically this is the way all artists should be, yet no one seems to listen, or they give up on that ever happening. It's nice to see you like this. :)

That reminds me of a really good artist I saw once (really, REALLY good btw, but I don't remember the name) who drew a WoW Draenei's lower leg/hoofs backwards.... I don't understand how an artist of such skill could make such a blatantly obvious mistake lol. If I notice backwards feet in your art, I'll let you know :D.

Your openness to such criticism is refreshing.

In a number of cases you described, it is probably complacency. "I'm popular, I have all these people that love my stuff, what I push out is good enough". I observe that this frequently comes alongside hostile reactions to criticism. If their own fans go on to support this behavior it all tends to go to hell.

I'm sure there are some examples where they just flat-out could not take criticism in the first place, as well.

I would suggest watching "Sins of a complacent artist", if you are interested in one example of what I described. The original uploader (ForeverPandering, known under different names elsewhere) nuked his channel for reasons I do not agree with, but it's been reuploaded by others.

In any case, I salute your resolve.

Yeah, unless the artist specifies that an auction pic or commissions for a month are gonna be a certain way (i.e. flat color), commissioners SHOULD be able to get more bang for their buck, so to speak. I know I'd treat commissioners with the utmost respect, especially since I'm OCD about my art and feel inclined to fix certain mistakes seconds after I post a pic. XD

Anyhoo, I'll be sure to keep an eye out and give as much artistic critique as I possibly can. ;P

I prefer for more obvious ones. Not the tiny ones that are barely noticeable, coz even I have to admit, I can't exactly trust your anatomy knowledge.

Makes sense to me, it is especially weird when commission or auction pieces seem to be below that artist's usual standards.

I just went back and asked a person I was doing a trade if they wanted me to fix the piece I did cause I left out a marking and they never said anything when I showed the drawing to them. So now I have copies of it both ways. They didn't care.

Critique never bothered me. My art's not perfect (then again, I'm not pop-fur), but I always try to improve on what I do.

I think it's because you have all these high-tier artists who are so beloved and revered like gods that plebs like us are too afraid to offer some consrtuctive critique because you'll have all their followers come down on you like the wrath of god or something. What can you do?

True on that. I'm not gonna point out names, but there was this one pop artist who fucked up the face of a character in a certain picture. It was a really obvious, distorted face. For some reason, even the commissioner replied to the critique posts about it, "I don't see anything wrong. O_O "

Wow... I never do commissions (no way of getting money), but I do trades a lot. And, when I do, I always try to finish mine first so the recipient can gauge on the quality of the pic they do in return. I feel guilty if they make an amazing pic and I do a subpar one.
