Montana officially legalizes sodomy
Unfortunately, because no news station or paper wants to cover this, the only place I could find it is a Political Action Group website, but I did find the full text of the bill now turned law.
The bill has been on the books, but has finally signed into law 16 years after the State Supreme Court ruled that the current sodomy laws were declared unconstitutional in Gryczan v Montana (1997). The bill was signed into law, and will take effect next Fiscal Year, October 1, 2013.

The Law's Text (if you're really bored this weekend): http://data.opi.mt.gov/bills/2013/b.....tml/SB0107.htm
What does this mean? Montana has now legalized oral sex, anal sex, beastiality, penetration of the mouth, anus, or vagina with a marital aid, phallic shaped fruit or vegetable, rim jobs, et cetera.
How long til Montana allows homosexual marriages? No idea. If it took them 16 years to officially repeal the Sodomy/Deviant Sexual Acts Laws that were declared unconstitutional by the Montana State Supreme Court in 1997 and the United States Supreme Court in 2003, don't expect them to approve it over night, I'd guess it will take at least another 20 years.

I am for equality of marriage and separation of church and state, however, separation of church and state does not appear in the Bill of Rights, it was a phrase used by Thomas Jefferson to explain the First Amendment's Establishment Clause and Free exercise clause. I would like to see the Court summary of the case where marriage is considered a right.
Marriage licenses are granted by the state, not the church, and are legal documents. See my previous entry about this: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4473553/
Jefferson's commentaries and the reason the Establishment and Free Exercise Clauses exist is to prevent religious persecution. The Federal Government cannot declare a state religion or fund a state religion nor can it prevent people from exercising their rights to practice a religion.
Biblical marriages include men and women, but they also include polygamy, marriage between man and a slave, marriage between two slaves, and variations there of, but it also depends on which version of the texts you are using; the Christian Bible, the Torah and Levitical Law, or Islam and its various commentaries.
Slavery is still technically legal in the United States so long as it is used as a form of punishment. "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction." Amendment 13, Section 1.
Polygamy and Polyandry are also illegal under Model Penal Code Section 230.1, which makes it a crime. However, that is not a separation of church and state, it is the state violating religious rights, since Polygamy and Polyandry are legal in several religions, primarily Mormonism and Islam.
Also, you cited about.com and wikipedia. About.com and wikipedia are not considered by anyone to be good reference cites as about.com is considered a periodical/blog and wikipedia can be re-written by any viewer.
Thomas Jefferson used separation of church and state to describe the meaning of the Establishment and Free Expression Clauses.
Establishment Clause
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion..." It's pretty straight forward. The Federal Government cannot declare a state religion for the United States. The reason for this was that the United Kingdom had two religions; Catholicism and the Anglican Church. Depending on who was in power, each church was recognized as the state religion and then unrecognized, however, when either religion was in power, they would persecute anyone and everyone who did not believe in their religion, often causing the deaths of thousands of people. It is why we have Pennsylvania and Massachusets; both of which were settled by political and religious dissidents from England. However, the Federal Government can recognize a group of people as a religion, even Atheism is recognized as a religion under the Federal Government.
Free Exercise Clause
"or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." Congress cannot pass laws forbidding people to practice their religion, regardless of what religion it is. This was designed to protect people from the religious persecution faced by Catholics, Protestants, Humanists, and Atheists by England and other European Powers.
As for gay marriage.. it will be passed eventually. It will take a few more years.. maybe a decade but it will eventually be passed.. While they legalize that, they should just legalize marriage between anything and anyone no matter how many are involved. Save the drama for all the poly's out there who want to be married to 30495309 people.. or the people out there who want to get married to their pet rock.. who cares.. the only thing it all really effects is tax laws...
What people are really fighting for is to be able to kiss in public.. been seen without discrimination by others as a couple. The rest is sooo... well.. minor. Hospital rights.... the only time you are not allowed in is if the family says no.. IF the family is there at all... and you can leave your stuff to anyone you want when you die.. it is called a will.. in fact.. sometimes being married doesn't mean you get everything that is left automatically anyway..
I hope this all gets passed in the next couple of years.. seems to be a world trend
