fireworks sound nothing like gun shots, they have their own distinct sounds, from a distance fireworks will give off a pop, but a gun shot will sound like a crackle, but close up fireworks will still have the pop, but a gun shot bang followed by a faint crackle from the sound echoing, even the fireworks will echo but the difference is that when the fireworks echo it's more of a rumble instead of a crackle because the pop is lower pitched compared to the bang of a gun

The only thing I heard was the explosion of the firework itself. It sounded like a gunshot to me.
