Crowd-sourcing Nonsense - Halp!
12 years ago
Ok, so it has been a pathetically long time since I picked up the Wacom, even if I have been improving more with traditional media, and I'm also in the mood to draw some truly stupid things. Somehow this led to the idea (in the last 5 minutes) of trying out a crowd-sourced approach to inspiration.
So, for the all of 5 of you that will probably read this (thank you oh limited but awesome audience!), I'm asking you to help me create a franken-character. Pick one of the regions of the body below and name an object or creature that should be used for that part. Optionally you can even list what it should be doing. Please keep these G-rated, folks! :P
UPDATE: Y'all be crazy, this monstrosity is now fully decked out! Now I have the challenge of creating this beast, ha. Stay tuned!
¡Regions!
Head
--> A beak with segmented eyes, and maybe some hipster glasses
Torso
--> A dubstep-dancing sloth with tiger stripes (maybe)
Left Arm
--> A pipe organ!
Left Hand
--> Tiger paw, holding a PBR
Right Arm
--> ...also a pipe organ!
Right Hand
--> Tiger paw
Left Leg
--> A tree!
Left Foot
--> Peanut butter & jelly sandwich
Right Leg
--> A petrified tree
Right Foot
--> Canadian Lynx, dipping a toe in the water
(optional) Tail
--> Fuck yeah it's a pangolin!
(optional) Wings
--> Gargoyle wings
Thanks to everyone who contributed, this should be a challenge. :)
There's no limit to how many ideas you can contribute, and the reward is getting to see me try to make some silly character sketches (at least for this experimental round, we'll see how it goes). I will leave this up for at least 24 hours, maybe a little longer depending upon how many ideas get posted. Thanks, and have fun!

FA+

Right foot. Speicies: Lynx, Action: About to dip into the water, as seen from under a dock (so looking at the back/heel area of the foot and leg). :D I'll leave the other one for another paw lover amidst your audience. ;)
Torso: Sepcies: Sloth. Action: Body poppin' to some Dubstep. :3
Thanks for the suggestions, this is good stuff!
Right Leg: Petrified wood.
Right and left hands : tiger claws.
Bonus texture : tiger stripes!
This is a neat idea :). But also put some work in on loosening up your sketching of the entire body/form. Get a feel for gestures and bringing the whole body into it.
I totally read your "beak" suggestion as the entire head being a beak and nothing else. That might have to stay. :P Thanks for the great suggestions!
Draw an impish gargoyle. He's a hipster sort of guy.....23 going on 4,000 years on the side of Notre Dame. Think about a guy from one of your college classes that you wished to turn to stone because he wouldn't shut up, but make him likeable.
Hope this helps
For old times' sake.
