Trying a new convention today

(lol it is after 12am so it is "today" but AFTER I go to bed and wake up lol)
Gonna drive up and sample a new furry con today
Back in 2008 I sampled FURther CONfusion, a 5 day event. My first visit was just a sample, just a day trip, 2 hour drive there, 8 hours there, 2 hour drive home...
Stayed over night every year since then.
Lets hope this con is fun and successful and thus becomes a permanent part of the list of events I attend.
It may not do well and dry up and die, like some first time events I have attended. But then again look at how far Sac-Anime has come in its 10ish years: I still remember attending what I believe was its first event, held at freaken Sunrise Mall, just a handful of nerds dorking around a mall including me as Ryo-Oki... now it has the Downtown Sacramento Convention Center hosted by an adjacent fancy smancy hotel just a stone's throw away from the capital of California.

But I am allergic to car rides that exceed 3 hours
(okay I lie, I did take a field course in college where we went the bristlecone pines atop White Mountain... resulting in me freezing my freaken ass off 5 hours from home in the middle of gawdforsakenNOWHERE on a mountain with people I hardly knew... my watter bottles were almost frozen solid by morning. I was such a pansy I slept in one of the school issued vehicles the snext night... still my ADHD abhors long car rides, lol)
(Actually wait, it may not be a lie, while the pines were 5 hours from home we stopped and camped near Mono lake one night and then spent 2 nights in the middle of gawdforsakenNOWHERE ... so I think it was 2 hours one day and then 3 hours the next)
(PS I loved the field trip... aside from thinking I was gonna die that second night when it got below freezing and I was in a sleeping bag rated for 50f with no camping mat so ground chill was sucking the heat off me... wearing every article of clothing I had including socks over my gloves and my extra pair of shoes over that sobbing because I was so cold)
(I HATE being cold)
i have not gotten to go to a furry con yet, only an anime one.
Woot! we are good then, cause running into you I would never know what to say =D
(except when someone else is trying to talk about something interesting to me, then its an effort to shut up)
Hope to see you next year if they continue to have it!
BLFC is much smaller than FC but its smaller size and slower pace made for great chances to just chat and hang out with folks :3
