Kraest There's a bit of a story with this song. When I was 18, I was homeless and lived in a tent with two friends (it was a three room tent) for 6 months, from February to July of '07. For the first three months, we were in the woods behind a Waffle House. I had my guitar with me and my piece of shit CD player. One of the CD's I had was a Misfits mix. One day, I had the duty of watching over the tent while my two friends went out looking for jobs and food. I spent most of the day hanging out on our (stolen) hammock, playing my guitar, trying to play and write guitar solos that were far too complicated for my skill level at the time, which wasn't very much. At one point, I started playing this thing that sounded familiar, but I couldn't figure out what it was.
Eventually, I got bored and, since I had a great lack of coffee, decided to take a nap. So, I put on my headphones, leaned my guitar against one of the trees the hammock was tied to and laid back to listen to The Misfits while I napped.
The nap never happened. The first song I played was this song, and I immediately knew that that was the song I was playing earlier that I couldn't figure out what it was.
So, I grabbed my guitar and started to play. I spent an hour or so working out the tiny details in the song and figuring out how to play the guitar solo.
When my tent mates, Tomm and Roxy, came "home", we ate dinner and I played the song for them, as was how we usually did things. They often told me that they were glad to have a musician as a tent mate because the quiet of living in a tent was terrible and I gave them a nice escape from all of that.
So, without further ado, the soundtrack of the day.
