Well, yes, there is that...

One cartoon that I've been longing to spotlight for years (but it's unavailable on YouTube or anywhere else) is a UPA short called "Miserable Pack of Wolves" which is also narrated by Mel Leven -- it even has the same exact banjo plunking chords that you can hear at the start of "The Yellow Yahoo." I'm still hoping that someday Classic Media will loosen their stranglehold and put out a DVD set of the complete Gerald McBoingBoing Show, which was the only place this short was aired. The series also had many other fun little shorts that I'd like to highlight as well, such as "The Three-Horned Flink" (Mel again).

I used to know Mel Leven. He told me that he brought "Miserable Pack of Wolves" to UPA, and they immediately hired him for the Boing Boing show. Mel did quite a bit of work, writing songs, stories, singing, acting, and playing the ukelele (he played piano too.) The Ham and Hattie cartoons were partly made to give Mel (and Fred Crippen) something to do after production on the TV show wound up.

I shouldn't even remember these songs, but I just loved the Muppets.

You missed S is for Superman. It was the last remnant of the Filmation Superman Cartoon, that lasted a long time even after ACT killed superhero shows until the Superfriends in 1973. The Filmation Superman Cartoon was gloriously Violent, and was one of the First Sat AM cartoon I used to watch when I was really little.It was this Incongrously Mainstream, animation segment, in the Sesame Street sea of Hippie, experimental animation.
