I've never had surgery myself, but I sure you'll be through it in no time. But hey, it's awesome to finally get to the root of the problem!

Dont worry cute one. I was been a subject to several surgeries, with one last year. Theres nothing to worry about.

You will be fine hun. A cyst is pretty easy to remove. Its the recovery after it thats annoying. Not even painful really. Just annoying. lol. Dont worry we all are here for you.

They *may* take out the whole organ. I'm not 100% yet, I talk to the surgeon on monday...trying not to get ahead of myself though.
I have high pain tolerance, but I don't want to be sore in bed for weeks x. I don't think it will take that long though? I'm overreacting.

Don't worry about surgery, I've had 3 on my spine, you'll be just fine and I'm glad they finally found out what the issue was

I had a nuro spinal surgery, back in sept 2011 a very delicate procedure where one wrong move i would have never walked again. I'm running and jumping I was even able to hold the pregnancy weight on my spine as long as was very careful and a wonderful baby boy!

I was 3+ years in this pain then the doctor did the surgery and was extremely scared, yet excited about the whole thing. This was my chance finally have some normalcy in my life. this was my first time being fulling knocked out. The doctors do an amazing job of making sure your comfortable, the start you off slow with some sedatives and pain relievers, you may get hot flashes that is perfectly normal, after that you feel weighted/heavy and you really get spacey/derp faced. then they bring you to a room in a bed and move you on to a table. If you're receiving gass the will ask you to take some deep breaths this help's calm you if your not already super derp face and jellified they will ask you if your ready and you give them the ok an the put the mask on you and you count up....

You wake up in a stupor and will most like not even remember your family coming in and you's act all goofy for a bit. They will check you one more time, an then if you staying as an inpatient you will then go to your room. As an out patient they will give a once over and release you shortly after.


If you have any concerns no matter how small let your doctors know they want to ensure you that you will be fine, they will answer any question you may have. The staff after words are So nice to you, Ice chips at first, then water and if you feel well enough juice you can start a liquid diet for a bit then ( depending on the case) you will be able to have non lipid foods for while then your regular diet.

You have nothing to worry about unless you go to some hack job clinic XD

Doctors and anesthesiologist have years of practice in school, and out of school.

Awe girl, surgery isn't as scary as it seems (had 4 surgeries under 2 years) and I had a cyst removed from my neck!

I've had a few surgeries and they're not too terribly bad but I hear it depends on where the incisions are and such. I had my gall bladder removed not long ago, and while they only made three small incisions, i was in a good amount of pain for a while afterwards. However, I am also REALLY intolerable of pain so most of the time I was probably overreacting. I just have a very low tolerance for it. Now, one thing that did happen that fucking SUCKED was that I found out coming out of the anesthesia makes me incredibly nauseous....As they were getting me to come to...I threw up ALL OVER my nurse. Needless to say, since I had surgery in my stomach area it fucking HURT....but inside I was laughing as a 'Ha, that's what you guys get for making me hurt' but I know it's their job to help me. xD Still, puking all over one of the nurses had a slight pleasure in it since I was so miserable. Despite the after-surgery pain, though, it really wasn't that bad. I just laid in a recliner for a few days and played pokemon. I highly doubt getting surgery to remove a cyst on your spleen will need a large incision, so it will probably be a breeze. Just take the pain killers they give you after you're all patched up, rest, take it easy, and it'll pass sooner than you think.

Oh by the way, natay's comment is great. I remember when they put me on some morphene PRIOR to surgery, I was having a gigglefit while watching the view and my folks were standing around laughing right back at me. In the surgery room, I suddenly got very scared as they wheeled me in. I could see the big white room and all the docs, and it was very surreal. However, my doctor stayed in eye contact with me, put his hand on the side of my head, and reassured me I was in the best care for this procedure. He told me as he pulled out a mask that he put over my nose to count from 10 to 1 and only focus on that. I got to 7...I don't remember a thing. :> They'll take good care of you~

I hope this is the problem. I really do. It's sucked seeing you well one day and sick as a dog the next. I miss the healthy bouncy shep that keeps me entertained. And here I thought it was the water interacting with your alien hound body. Earth water is apparently riddled with bacteria not suited for alien sheps.

I've never had surgery myself either, of course, now that I've hit another round number there's always the possibility. However, reassure yourself with the thought that they do this all the time, and you'll be in good hands. Try not to worry too much, though I know the feeling, I'd probably feel the same way. *hugs* Keep us updated, hon.
