And now I'm back from BLFC
Got back home late last night from Reno and Biggest Little Fur Con (no joke, I didn't understand that name until we were driving through downtown on Thursday night). I'm past the stage in life where I'm any good at con reports, so I'll just say that I had a lot of fun the whole time. The con itself was quite successful for a first-time convention (all things considered. Although hopefully they plan the fursuit games better next year), and also pretty huge. Attendance was almost half local furs, which is actually a good thing, in that it cuts way down on the PCD if you're gonna see everyone again the following weekend. I liked how the whole con was in one connected area, it gave it a cozy little feeling. Even if the roof started to leak on Friday.
The hotel itself was pretty slick, too. Besides the con area and casino, it had a ton of little distractions that kept things from ever getting dull in the downtime: some hardcore laser tag (you had to reload! And had health! And could die/respawn!), a pizza place and second run movie theater (though I'd already seen everything it was showing), and an outdoor driving range floating on a lake (and also Go-Karts, but I didn't get a chance to try this). Not to mention we furs were a minority, and the hotel was also hosting a line-dancing context, a basketball convention, a volleyball convention (word on the street is that it's some of the same groups who go to San Jose during FC. Small world), a senior prom, and a bunny competition (as in several thousand bunnies of all shapes and sizes in a dog show-style thing. Very neat, if a little smelly). Not to mention all the folks who were just there for the casino and whatnot. I actually liked it a lot, since it's always a good time when normal folks encounter us furries. Everyone was very curious and excited, especially during the fursuit parade.
So, awesome weekend at an awesome con. Even if the drive home was a bit longer than I thought it would be, and had a massive delay at the start due to some lost luggage and general shuffling about the hotel. But all that counts as after-con activities, so I won't hold it against it. I met and hung out with a ton of awesome people (not to mention my always-enjoyable roommates), though I'd run out of room if I tried to remember and list them all here. So just all of you assume I know and love you if I saw you there.
I can't wait to go back next year :D

And the reason you didn't ditch the furry con and jump over to the bunny con was...?
We bunnied when and where appropriate, is what I'm saying.
But did you bunny as much as humanly possible?
Apologies to you guys for holding you up on Sunday. It was remarkably hectic just to leave the city. Hopefully you weren't too much later getting back home.
And I actually encountered a large population of furry-hating douchebags during the con. I chalked it up to the prevalence of alcohol. But really the bad manners were everywhere. I know there were nice people too but that was the largest percentage of abusive furry-haters I'd personally ever encountered at a con.
