Hah, perhaps she would gain the ability to turn into goo and venom-merge with people, giving them her powers while simultaneously draining them.

I would think rouges powers would drain the symboite's life essence before the suit could do real harm. the suit eats it host slowly. it can run for atleast a day without killing it's host. rouge on the other hand can't touch a person for more then a minute with killing them.

though depends as she did once drain Ms. Marvel but didnt out right kill her

she didn't kill her cause it was storyline. that's like draining thor. she wouldn't kill him but damn it f he'll be out of the game for a long time

point being that its possible to be drained by her for a quite a bit and not be outright killled as in turn she may keep the powers instead only having them for a short while

a symbiote endow their victims with enhanced physical abilities, at the cost of fatally draining them of adrenaline. It only copies the power of it's first host. since thats spider-man it wouldn't be protected from her. she would drain it way before it could drain her.

Frankly, I would see it as Rouge would drain the energy out of Venom in sense making him docile but with Venom's symbiosis, he would be permanently bonded to Rouge. Simply because of the constant dynamic of each of them feeding off the other.

But that's just me. :p

Well, I do see Rouge's ability being able to keep him in check but Venom would still be active on some level. He could still affect her emotions greatly. It may not be on the level as Spiderman had to deal with where he was influenced to be more and more aggressive. It would probably be more like, she has a bad day (or maybe having a period) and what would be a minor anger point would turn into a Hulk style rampage. So there would still be the internal conflict, but on a more manageable level.

Oh, Dog! Random thought I had today on this. You take Rouge's (mind you, I'm using the older version of Rouge where she still had strength and flight unlike the movie version) strength, Spiderman's agility and webbing, Venom's ability to amplify the host's strength, kick in rage mode and top it off with flight, that would be a match for even for Squirrel Girl!

Rogue's neigh-invulnerability would make it hard for Venom to consume her,even if it goes the "bite and chew" route we've seen the symbiotes do from time to time. As such,Rogue would suck out all it's energy well before it could harm her physically.

However,Rogue doesn't just absorb energy,she also absorbs memories. Which means she could end up with it's memories,and therefore personality,stuck in her head. Since it knows how to take control of a host's mind,it stands to reason it could do the same thing from inside her head. Meaning that Rogue would have to constantly fight with it for control. As a result,they would be "joined" after a fashion,but neither would be truly consumed.

This is about the answer I would give. Rogue is damn near invincible after the events with Ms. Danvers, but the memory absorption with the Symbiote would likely cause her to completely bond with it moreso than any other host before her.

That said, only a true madman would write that particular storyline, as it would likely result in the near-death of Spiderman, as well as several others.

As others have mentioned Rogue absorbs both energy and memories. This is the main factor in my opinion for while I am not fully versed in Spider Man mythos I'm certain I recall at some point that Venom had existed for a VERY long time and had travelled to many different worlds, thus it has memories many many times more abundant than any human.

I find this the important point because we have seen what effects even a normal human mind being over-absorbed has on Rogue. So, I say, Venom would utterly consume her mind or just kill her. Just seems to me like trying to put a Terabyte into a vacum tube computer, pop. Doesnt work. Heh.

Yes but I mean all the different versions that may be out there, off-shoot comics or cartoons I'm not aware of. Just incase the original concept I recall of Venom being thousands-millions of years old had been changed within the most popular/abundant canon. :3

And a certain irony with my icon, I actually came up with the idea of a sphere headed person before ever even seeing Mysterio. *shrugs* I believe I got the idea from the animated movie Heavy Metal, there being a talking sphere of pure evil and I simply put it atop a human body. Then I one day saw Mysterio and thought 'That is the guy!'. Hehehe. ^^

something like this happened in the comics. the mutant leech had the power to depower other mutants by touch. when he grabbed ahold of Rogue thier powers misfired and knocked them both out. but as for the original question... it depends whether you're talking modern or classic Rogue. Classic Rogue"s powers being always on means that the venom sybiote begins to weaken the moment it makes contact. She would also absorb it's shape shiting powers and memories. Then if you use a more recent version a single touch is all it takes for her to permanently absorb the symbiotes powers memories and life foce killing it in the process. Finally modern contiuity has given Rogue full control of her powers allowing her to selectively steal powers, memories, or life force as she desires as a trade off she's lost Ms.Marvel's powers. the modern Rogue would be able to achieve true symbiosis with venom.

Agreed, i think Rogue and "vemon" will have a true symbiosis. it will be insane but it the most possible way of this working.

It's actually rather quickly summed up.

See, the Symbiote needs to ACT OUT it's energy siphoning. Rogue doesn't and drains energy via contact.

HOWEVER, a byproduct of this is that she drains not only physical attributes and life force, but also memories and the personality.

In the end, it'd be seen as Rogue killing the symbiote, but then she'd retain the knowledge and personality of said symbiote... Which could lead to the overwhelming of Rogue's personality since the symbiote is a cerebrial creature anyway.

I haven't ready the comics in a long time (the whole spider man clones thing killed comics for me) but last I knew, Rogue absorbed memories/strength/powers through skin contact. Venom (the suit, not Eddie) would try to bond itself with the right host and take over their mind if they were too weak. So say the suit jumped on Rogue, as soon as it came into contact with her skin, her power would instantly begin draining its memories and abilities (though the suit can learn new abilities if bonded with some one long enough to copy theirs', it currently only has spider man's). This would instantly knock the suit into a coma and it would fall off of her if it hadn't actually bonded to her. If it HAD managed to bond to her, the suit would be in a permanent coma even if it was removed as long term contact with her makes the drain permanent. The powers she would gain are questionable as the suit is more or less liquid in nature which is how it changes shape and I'm not sure if she would absorb its physical characteristics like that. If any thing, she'd get a limited shape change ability that would allow her to change the color of her skin and appearance but not her size or shape. Now for the real fun part! In the What-If comics, it was suggested that the suit's powers could be influenced by the imagination of the wearer (slightly like the green lantern ring) and when the suit bonded with the punisher (who's a gun nut with very detailed memories of guns and how they work) the suit was able to change its normal spider webbing into bullets. I know this isn't that big a deal, liquid webbing hardened into bullets, but since Rogue can absorb memories from those she touches, the suit could gain new 'powers' from touching non-powered smart people. Also, Rogue CAN be taken over by people who's minds are stronger then her's and the suit is very old and powerful so there's a chance that it would take her over, since that's what it does by nature. Hope that helps.

Personally, I think she would absorb it's essence, but the essence of the suit would alter her state of mind enough to perhaps make her and it go onto the same wave-length. But that's just a shot in the dark x.x
