My Very First Con! (Fur-Eh 2013)
Well I figure I would just say a few things since this was my first con that I have ever gone to.
This was a rather small con with 275 registered furs, about 80ish were in suit! It was located in my home city and I decided not to get a room as I could just 'drive home' at the end of the day. I don't really drink or dance, so I just left when the dance started. Over the last year since I have gotten into the fandom, I have met a lot of the local community and have made some friends. Whom were at the con running as staff or just registered members. I felt I wasn't totally left on the outside as I kept bumping into furs that I know. I'm glad that I didn't go for the 2012 con as I would of been totally overwhelmed.
I left work early on Friday and took the Saturday off to enjoy as much as I can. I went to as many panels as I could and even thrown money at the dealers to make me badges and art. I got my first furry related t-shirt and nommed on some paw cookies. :3
Everybody seemed so happy and 'comfortable' with themselves. They all seemed to be just at home there. And I actually felt like I fit in. The suiters didn't freak me out or anything. I even wish I could of been in my own suit. Which gets me thinking...
The R/C nut as I am, I entertained everybody with my mini quadcopter piloting skills as I few it inside and out of the hotel. When I see a suiter come by, I'd make them happy by giving a blast of air from the little drone up the muzzle. They really like that. lol... I dunno whyyyyy.
So yeah, I had fun. Maybe would of been more 'involved' if I was staying in a room. But thats for another con in the future. Which might be RF in Seattle.
Sorry for my poor grammer and what not, I'm very tired and figured I'd get this out there before passing out.
