I wouldn't say "downgraded" since the only thing we know about him is his appearance. He may very well have a speaking role and be just as important as he is in the show.

People have been SUPER PISSED since the concept for this was leaked a while ago. And their anger has only grown since then. Seriously, read the comments on ANY Equestria Girls article on Equestria Daily. You'll find for every positive comment is about 30 negative ones.

Which is funny coming from a bunch of grown adults who watch a little girl's show to begin with and constantly preach "Love and Tolerance" xD

Pretty much and welcome to the rating bomb of mlp looks like it's probably at its end now with this movie. For those that like this, it's an interesting idea and graphically not bad, but you'll probably see this thing not do well at theaters for as much viewers as they've had for the tv show.

I sincerely hope not. I do my best to support the franchise and I do wish bronies as a whole were less picky and judgmental about the merchandise. It would truly be sad to see it die off because the fans aren't giving it the ratings it needs and buying the toys.

And I think the movie deserves an honest try. It's made by the SAME people who do the show. You would think that would be incentive enough to at least give it a chance.

Especially now that this trailer is out! It looks as though it's the same quality as the show and the plot sounds interesting. Old student of Celestia playing the villain and Twilight stepping into an alternate dimension, gaining the help of people who remind her of her friends? I think it sounds promising given the other quality episodes we've gotten.

Well I know one thing... I'm waiting for it to go to DVD

It was never really specified what it was going to be. All we knew was that it was a spin-off.

Just keep in mind, it's made by the same people who work on the ponies we all know and love. They made us love colorful talking horses and I'm sure they can pull this off too.

We'll find out for sure. Of course I'm gonna have to look and see if a theater near me will be playing it.

It's a new movie meant to compete with the incredibly popular Monster High toys.
But, like all other pony shows meant for selling toys, it has a good plot and the same animation and voice quality.

It's really not as bad as people are making it out to be. It's the same exact show with human-like characters instead of ponies. Not that much of a difference :\

something tells me this is just right for my niece, but and I do mean a BIG BUT here, if Twilight's boyfriend friend out that she is a pony from a different world along with her friends wouldn't that makes things a slight bit offset

Eh. I'm not really looking forward to it myself. The idea sort of turns me off a little bit. If only because it seems like a desperate attempt to imitate Bratz, and that disappoints me coming from a series that was so imaginative up til now.

Oh, I'll still watch it. Anything I had resembling a social life was my sacrifice to the altar of science, so I have nothing better to do on Saturdays. But... eh. I'm just not as excited.

And yes, I realize exactly how hypocritical this is, coming from a 19 year old who watches a show about talking magical horsies.
