New planet mnemonic
Yig-ped!
You know how the mnemonic for the planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) used to be "My Very Earnest Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas"? And how a lot of people complained about Pluto being demoted from planet status, because now it means "My Very Earnest Mother Just Served Us NOTHING"?
Well, I had an idea. Pluto's still around, it's still up there in space, but now it's a dwarf planet. And there are four other dwarf planets officially recognized by the IAU (International Astronomical Union). So instead of kicking Pluto out of the party, why not let him invite his new friends in?
So I invented a new mnemonic to cover all thirteen planets & dwarf planets. Here it is:
My Very Earnest Mother Can't Just Serve Us Nine Pizzas; Hmm, Maybe Eight.
That stands for:
Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Ceres, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Haumea, Makemake, Eris.

(b) has sufficient mass for its self-gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a hydrostatic equilibrium (nearly round) shape, and © has cleared the neighbourhood [sic] around its orbit [ref].
so by those 2 deffinitions it doesnt qualfiy.. our planet shape changes and we got stuff around us and in our orbit. so how can we be a planet.
