Did you ever have one of those dreams...

...where you run and run and never get anywhere?
For me the Jodi Arias trial has been like that. It has lasted four months. The broad was on the stand for eighteen days straight. Every single tawdry sexual reference has been discussed ad nausium and every cockamamie bullshit the-devil-made-me-do-it excuse dragged out and minutely examined. There has been no doubt about this woman's guilt for at least four years --not including the first year, when she first claimed she was not there at all and then decided that "the ninjas did it while I was forced to watch" when they proved that she was. No trial should be allowed to last this long when there is no doubt of guilt, just mental culpability. And the jury knew it. They took only three days to convict her and I don't think her guilt was ever in question. It was just a matter of *how* guilty was she.
Unfortunately, the circus continues. Now we have impact statements. I have no quarrel with letting the victim's family air their spleens. After what they have been forced to listen to, they should be allowed to bring buckets of overripe tomatoes and rotten eggs into court to fling at her. But now they're going to put Arias back on the stand, presumably to say she's sorry --or maybe to beg for death, as she mentioned in a tv interview. I can only hope that SOMEONE will prevent this from turning into another 18-day marathon of wailing. This woman is just fine in jail. She enters talent contests, paints and even has a fanclub. What frightens her is a lack of attention. Once it has been decided, she will be old news and the gawpers will drift away. That's what she can't stand.
So she has every motive in the world to keep the circus going and I just hope that someone is there to say enough is enough.
Personal Peeve
You'll excuse me.

I feel for the families (yes hers too) shes ruined many lives
I didn't even watch or make myself away of any of it.
I was preparing my condo for sale during the OJ Simpson trial --it was shoved down our throats, too-- when I heard some newscaster announce that it was "the most important trial of this century".
WTF? There was nothing that shattering about this trial, really. It was about a jealous husband murdering his wife in a fit of rage. Nothing new about that. Been going on for thousands of years. And the fact that the husband was black and the wife white wasn't news, either. Where did they think Othello came from?
Even the verdict was not that shattering. It just proved that people can be reactionary and stupid. This is not news.
And yet, to cater-to and stir up his audience, this newscaster makes this statement. He should have been pie-killed immediately.
The Laci Petersen trial was much more interesting because of the eerie sensation that you were looking at a budding serial killer who just happened to get caught before he hit his stride.
A lot the news media does right now annoys me. They do everything they can to stir-up and inflame things just to sell you toilet-tissue. They have no perspective and no moral compass anymore.
Sigh... Where are the Walter Cronkites when we need them?
Oh did you know the a number of women have gone missing after dating OJ? The police know about it but fear doing anything.
And don't bother. Her Facebook page --yes, she had a Facebook page-- has been taken down
Now that she is a convicted murderer, that access is much more restricted.
Then they had the audacity to be surprised when those pictures were displayed in court.
They were convicted, of course.
(Hell, I'm surprised they didn't add commericals!)
Seriously, though. I wonder if the Romans, or the Visigoths, or the Mongol hoard would have done the same things if they'd had the same equipment. Can you imagine?
"Look, guys! I'm pillaging a village and killing everyone! Hi, mom!"
Jodi who?
The only thing I can't get away from is the insane levels the republicans seem to go through screaming bitching and moaning about presedent obama, and this bengauzi bullshit.
The more she goes on, the more I believe I'm better off not even following local news. And anything truly important will likely filter onto one of my friends' walls on facebook.
