Videogame themes, seasonal themes (holidays or seasons), cultural themes, mythological themes, black and white, favourite food themed...

these are all great ideas... aslo MYTHOLOGICAL THEMES . YESSSSS.

I whole-heartedly second a Video Game theme! (Mostly because I have Uncharted on the brain 24/7)

I'm actually really digging the concept of the monochromatic image, or a limited color palette (limited to two or three hues, for example). Or drawing an image based off of a nebulous single word such as...

"Flight"
"Earth"
"Tranquility"

You get the idea. Another interesting theme would be "theme crossover" in which say, a character normally depicted in a sci-fi setting is instead depicted in a steampunk setting, or a modern character in a Medieval fantasy story, etc. Although, that theme idea would have to be worked out individually on a case-by-case basis through anonymous correspondence by the two trade partners.

Another theme that came to me is an "Inverted/Mirror Twin" sort of theme in which the character is opposites (not necessarily just in color swapping) but also perhaps opposites in species (say a prey species becomes it's primary predator and vice versa), opposites in psyches, stuff like that.

Those are a few off the top of my head.

I loved what you did with Game of Thrones. It was something that people liked (albeit... Not as many as I thought would trade...) so things where there is hype over it, so you simply use those currents to help advertise these exchanges.

S, things like Walking dead, Games, movies, all that!

Oooh, an example, use Monster Univeristy. I mean, it's such a great movie, Pete can turn other characters into monsters... It's fun :3 stuff like that <3

I like the gender bending , the monochromatic , and the superhero one we could also try emotion trades so it would be a photo based off an emotion we could also do basic generes like horror , fantasy , comedy , syfy, mystery . this last one may be to complex but we could also do a story trade (ex : murder mystery kinda like you draw out clue ) don't really know if all that made scene BUT ! there you have it <3

I've noticed several people saying they aren't getting art from the trades due to people not holding up their end. One of the other trade events I do does something called the 'grinch crew' where you sign up for both the trade and as a back up artist in case someone bails on their part.

In that one it's just done to be nice but in here I think we could make more use out of it, maybe an extra merit point if you get called on to fill in or something. You would still blacklist the person that didn't do their part of course but this way nobody ends up disappointed.

It's worked pretty well in the other event even though it's only been used once or twice, of course you hope it doesn't happen at all but things do come up, Just a thought.

That's a good idea. I do keep a running tally (on the "blacklisted" journal) of who is still owed art and anyone can visit that page to earn merit points, but I think it needs to be more obvious. I will think on it and come up with a journal about it. Thanks!
