“And it is still true, no matter how old you are -- when you go out into the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.”
Do any of you guys do it? I've recently gotten back into it in a big way and wondered if there were any other cachers out there.
Its basically you go on a walk and with the aid of GPS coordinates you find hidden boxes of treasure hidden away from the general public. It's pretty awesome it's like going on an Easter egg hunt the boxes have stuff in them like toys ans if you take something out of the box you hafta put something different in.
There's also traceable items like I have one called geoff the ghost. He is magnetic so he travels from geocache to geocache and so far he has been to Germany and Denmark and is currently in Sweden. His aim is to be stuck on interesting metal things.
So it's pretty good fun if a little geeky and sometimes you hafta work out puzzles and solve clues and it's actually exercise cause you go outside and walk places you've never been before.
I'm feeling better than I did this morning I think the reverse psychology I'm adopting is working wonders so hopefully things will be fine for my trip 2moro

Do you have a username on geocaching.com? I might sign up on there :3
However good phones are you still have to have phone reception, it uses data usage so you get the bill for that and it uses the battery like there is no tomorrow. My GPS is a really cheep one and it is more accurate than my Iphone and I can cache all day rather than about three hours it reduces the phones battery to. (Exaggerated but its not always easy to charge your phone when camping in the wilds).
That's cool, yeah I mean I'm sure some geocaching takes place in the woods and stuff
It is possible to cache without phone or GPS but you need to be at least descent with map reading and a compass.
Another one I found hidden in a snail shell. Sooo clever
seeking for a cach for mister TG?
happy that you are feeling better, hade a nice weeken:)
I also have a cache placed. Its the biggest ammo can I could find and is set up as a travel but hotel outside an Army surplus store that is just outside of an Army training camp, its called Cache Shelby (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cach.....d-cef7b6aea5f9). Whats fun is the army surplus store owner also contributes items to the cache, he loves it as it has brought in a little extra business for him.
I got into geocaching when I was going through a scary time involving breast cancer. I would go out caching to keep myself from just sitting and crying and worrying.
Sorry if ive just come off as a know-it-all. Was meant for interest , nothing more.

Well, diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks, they say! xD
I have nearly 400 under my belt, want to hit that mark next week if im lucky.
I dont like drive by caching (Literally driving up to a point and parking the car next to one, then driving off) It just seams a little pointless.
Caching should be a challenge and a little adventure.
Tho the way a lot of people are where I live, would take and never replace anything.
