What movies do you watch when your sad?
Popping in Bambi or The Lion King works pretty well for me when Im feeling down in the dumps. Its pretty important that I grab hold of something else to focus my attention on when depressing thoughts worm their way in late at night. Nothing like sitting down with a blanket, plush and comfy chair while watching a disney favorite.
My computer STILL is not mixed. Most I can do right now is fav things or short and brisk comments IF that. So for those wondering there is that. Lack of work and access to vocal skype friends has let my mind wander when its usually busy, especially through a very trying time for me. But Im taking what steps I can.
What makes you smile? What brings you joy? One of my greatest ones, aside from movies, is checking my websites and seeing new comments or feedback. I love hearing from people, especially....well mostly, haha, when its positive. :) I also love it when I get something in the mail. Lately though Ive been trying to ween myself from that addiction. XD (sapping my money. Im terrible at saving ;;)

I feel pretty down in the dumps and extremely stressed, so hopefully I can find something to help me too ;w;
As far as happy... well... music is what I tend to go to more than movies... for in my mind I can create my own video...
Hugs...
Though, usually, I play pokemon or draw when I'm feeling down.
But I also surround myself in friends sometimes, their spirits end up lifting up my own. listening to loud pop and upity music also works.
Cried plenty during it just to get it out. Touching movie and all. Even based on a true story.
I remember watching them during my first break up when I was 14 and it did the trick! :)
and
dale and tucker vs Evil is also a really good cheer up movie.
How can you not love a movie in which Robert DeNiro plays a gay, cross-dressing, sky-pirate!? :3
When he painted his mole like a heart I died.

god so many feels
Comedians I'll listen to while down:
John Pinette, Gabriel Iglesias, Jeanne Robertson, Lavelle Crawford, Kathleen Madigan, George Carlin, Frank Caliendo, Ron White, Jo Koy, Josh Blue, Russell Peters...
Any one of those people really cheer me up. <3
Also pretty much any movie from my childhood is a big thing for me too... animated movies of the late 80s and 90s... :x There are a ton of them.
I like laughing. It's fun and really good for you. It has great energy, and works well to dispel sadness.
What's wrong with you‽ You may as well watch Hotaru no Haka!
Or Fox and the Hound.
Or Nausicaa of the valley of the Wind.
But generally don't watch movies when sad.
Talking to good friends or hugs work, too... most of the time, unless I'm not feeling like, you know, other people.
Yep.
I hope that everything gets better soon and your computer gets fixed asap!
Here are some of my favourite Canadian-themed videos.
1) "I Am Canadian Anthem" (surprisingly, this is a beer commercial!) :P
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWDXE9Pbjic
2) "O Canada" -- a collaboration of many Canadian singers (English and French) who came together to sing the national anthem
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXaIAQjbD6I
3) "I Believe" -- the theme song to the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. It's a video that depicts the torch relay across Canada

4) "I Believe" -- the theme song to the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. Different video montage depicting athletes competing in their Olympic sport.

5) Vancouver 2010: You Gotta Be Here - Super Natural British Columbia. Loved this 90-second promotional clip of Vancouver.

6) CTV's Final "I Believe" Montage Preceded By Brian Williams' Closing Comments From the 2012 London Summer Olympics. I really loved the commentary about the Canadian athlete's performance and the highlights from the Olympic Games.

I also have some other videos I enjoy watching on YouTube. They're New York-themed as I've always loved NYC.
1) Oliver and Company -- "Once Upon a Time in New York City". I love the opening sequence to this classic 1980s animated movie. :)

2) "All Alone on Christmas" -- a music video from the movie Home Alone 2. Loved the Christmas music and the video montage of NYC.

I hope you enjoy! :)
Blowing stuff up, going shooting, playing violent video games, listening to loud angry music, eating chocolate... these are what works best fo rme when I am sad, or angrey.
of course, I'm a diabetic, so NOT being able to eat WTF I want to just pisses me the Frak off.
angry isn't sad, sad defeated. on to violent video games and loud music.
Mission accomplished.
Other things is listening to Enya music, it is so tranquil and soothing! Often times I listen to it while reading, so I have a really relaxing, uplifting vibe in the background while I'm busying my mind with something else. Fortunately, my parents collected a small library of fiction over their lives, living me with plenty to pick from.
Over all, those are the only things that have been pretty fool-proof for me. Positive, soothing music, cheerful romantic comedy films, and books/comics/whatever's on hand.
I hope this was remotely helpful. XD lol
Other good films for sadness are "The Blues Brothers" and "Sister Act," because it's impossible to be sad when there are nuns around; also Disney films and some of the artsier NFB pieces. "Yellow Submarine" is wonderful for depression.
Also, I got a DVD a while back of Boito's "Mefistofele" with James Morris in his prime in the lead (I saw him as Hans Sachs this year at the lyric, he's just as good as the hype) - that never fails to cheer me up. It wallows so pompously it makes my problems seem so small, but it's so uplifting at the end. ("Rusalka" and "Prince Igor" also good in this regard.)
Glee, The Producers and Mamma Mia are also among my choices. And when it's christmas, Love Actually
