Good Idea of bad idea? (Large beach pic)

Gay beach stuff as struck me with inspiration!
Tojo-the-theifs new submission featuring Riptideshark Made me joke that he'd probably be on the same beach as some other submissions Like this one and it got me thinking.
Using my experience cutting out characters pretty quickly I could whip up something like that. I'de want to clarfiy as much as possible that I don't want to take credit for the artwork or characters involved and would only make it for the sake of fun or a nice wallpaper featuring allot of artists in the one theme and setting.
My biggest worries and what will probably prevent me from doing so is permission to feature said artwork in image. I wouldn't be able to really upload it anywhere.
What are your thoughts? Would you like to see something like this happen?
I could do a thing where you guys could suggest me artwork or artists to include and i'll just keep adding things until I run out of gas.
EDIT: Maybe if I'm very thorough in creditation? Like linking to the artist and original artwork for every character included and stating very clearly in bold I only did some editing?

But I say yes to that idea!
But I think that simply adding the credits by links, and a big message (on the post, not on the image) stating that you just made it for fun would be enough. After all, it's just a homage to their pictures :)
You can however ask a few selected artists to draw something for a project like that
then work it up with some beach bar music and some wave animation and you would make a funtastic result :3!
I'll try my best to get several artists onboard. Gotta respect those who don't want to.

That aside, some artists and commissioners are extremely anal about their artwork being modified in any fashion whatsoever. A lot of them would be fine and would look forward to more recognition, but it's best to be on the safe side and have a clear OK.
No high or low angle camera shots please, they won't fit otherwise!
i also got a new dragon that could be of use, not my art of course, you'd need permission
And credit the hell out of the picture too.

With the right Credit given it shouldn't be a problem (if the artists agree) - Only thing is, that it could be a problem to fit many Characters from different resources with perspective and light direction :/

Only thing I'm unsure about is cropped characters are very difficult to add and unfortunatley allot of your work that would be fitting are cropped . I'll try to include your art somehow!

And I will ask wolfy - he is just really busy these days but maybe he is in for the fun ^_^ (Do you have something specific in mind from his portfolio? makes asking easier) We can also switch to notes XD
ROV, Meesh, Jailbird, Redrusker, Spelunkersal, Jay Naylor, Furrybob, Tsaiwolf, Hufnaar, and K-9. All I can think of/find atm. hope it helps.
